Thanks to the development of science and technology that today we have many ways of communication including the high-speed electronic communication media such as electronic mail and television. Though some people may not be immediately accustomed to those new methods thus think that they tend to inhibit meaningful and thoughtful communication, however, I believe that they bring us more benefits than disadvantages.

For one thing, as far as the delivery of personal messages concerned, electronic mails have enormously enhanced our efficiency. They save much of our time not only on the way to and back from the post office, but also, in fact more apparently, in the delivering process. They also largely cut down our cost. The two points above are especially true when it matters the long-distance letters. Using the traditional mailing system to send an international letter, it often takes us a few days and we have to pay for the stamps too; whereas an electronic mail may reach the receiver in as quickly as a few minutes and cost us only a few cents for the online charge. A byproduct of this advanced online communication is that it helps protect the environment by using the immaterial Internet instead of natural resource such as wood for paper and gasoline for transportation.

For another, television takes us to an unprecedentedly broad and colorful world of information. First, it offers us the incomparable affluence of content and options. With our time and energy allows, we may watch television and receive all kinds of information all day round for the teemed television programs continuously going on for twenty-four hours. And we also face numerous choices not only of different programs but also different channels from various countries and continents with support of the present satellite and communication technology. Second, we have not gained so much fun from any of the old-fashioned communication media including publications, newspapers and radio as from television programs. They color up the lonely time of millions of old people, drive away the boredom of the serious patients lying in the beds of hospitals and comfort those who are experiencing some kind of sadness in their homes, so that no one may deny the entertainment value of television programs. Last but not the least, it is really helpful in passing on useful information in certain circumstances when normal ways of communication are not available. Lending credence to this point is that the television classes programs during the SARS attack in my city. During the nearly three-month SARS vacation, it is primarily through television that all pupils and some middle school students can continue their classes. In brief, television not only provides meaningful and instructive information but also provides it in a most effective way.

Admittedly, we must also see that on some occasions these new high-tech based communication methods should give way to the traditional ones for their, to some degree, lack of formality, secrecy and depth in thought. For example, many important communications are finalized in writing instead of the convenient electronic mail both in business and official fields such as business contrasts, law suits, invitations for large meetings and governmental files. Moreover, many people insist that newspaper editorials and articles in magazines operate at a deeper level than television programs which they believe somewhat commercialized.

In general, although high-speed electronic communication media, such as electronic mail and television have their own limitation, the imperfectness may not overshadow the great efficiency and convenience they bring us. They, more often than not, contribute to offer meaningful and thoughtful communication.

Thanks to the development of science and technology that today we have many ways of communication including the high-speed electronic communication media such as electronic mail and television. Though some people may not be immediately accustomed to those new methods(这个不喜欢未必是因为不适应吧~) thus think that they tend to inhibit meaningful and thoughtful communication, however, I believe that they bring us more benefits than disadvantages.

Using the traditional mailing system to send an international letter, it often takes us(分词短语在前,主句的主语是不是应该是人呢……?都不敢确定了:P) a few days and we have to pay for the stamps too; whereas an electronic mail may reach the receiver in as quickly as a few minutes and cost us only a few cents for the online charge. A byproduct of this advanced online communication is that it helps protect the environment by using the immaterial Internet instead of natural resource such as wood for paper and gasoline for transportation.

Lending credence to this point is that the television classes programs during the SARS attack in my city. During the nearly three-month SARS vacation, it is primarily through television (真的嘛……?不是通过电脑?)that all pupils and some middle school students can continue their classes. In brief, television not only provides meaningful and instructive information but also provides it in a most effective way.

Admittedly, we must also see that on some occasions these new high-tech based communication methods should give way to the traditional ones for their, to some degree, lack of formality, secrecy and depth in thought. 我发现hehui的作文立意常常出人意表,^_^。从省时,节省能源和娱乐的角度来描述电脑和电视的好处,我当时压根没想到。当时我就光注意是不是能有效表达思想去了~

借这里贴上我的,^_^

"High-speed electronic communications media, such as electronic mail and television, tend to prevent meaningful and thoughtful communication."

With the development of technology, the method of communication appears faster and more convenient, of the electronic mail and television. The speaker claims such methods tend to prevent meaningful and thoughtful communication. While I would mention some exceptions, I fundamentally agree with this viewpoint.

High-speed electronic communications media provides people to communicate or inform others too fast to make a meaningful consideration. Turn first to electronic mail as an example. Nowadays, a great deal of people are inviting(invited) by the convenient and less-expensive method of communication that not only among individuals, but among companies they would like to "email" each other. For those who open their email-box frequently, this method is rather effective enough to pass information. Meanwhile, this method always misleads people to reply immediately. Imagine you hear a telephone ringing but not answer it-- the same feeling as you receive an electronic mail but not reply it. Thus it easily leads to somehow too rash or rush answers without comprehensive consideration.

Turn next to television, which is the most powerful mass media in today's world. Every country has its famous and popular television professional channel for news both of domestic and all over the world, some of which provides a 24-hour news broadcasting with their people owning different spare time. Admittedly it offers convenience for their(its) audience, but it also brings about the too intensive arrangement in these(this) news that they may appear too slim and simple and even immediate to be meaningful and thoughtful progresses. These years there are lots of psychologists and anthropologists have suggested people to less focus on television for it spoils all the spare time from us with meaningless blank facts.

Actually, people today are inextricable from the advantages of such high-speed electronic communications mass media, because they whatsoever provide the swiftest approach to the outer world and to other people, which is indispensable in today's high-speed business society. Chances are fleeting, which only affords to catch up with it by electronic media, otherwise you will fall behind.

What's more, as people are more aware of the disadvantages of these high-speed electronic communications media, people have taken measures to avoid them getting worse. Although people would like to use electronic mails as an immediate method to inform, they actually could prepare for the context what they would send fully before they open the email-box. As companies transfer contracts by electronic mails, the precedent discussing, bargaining, and drawing about the contracts are needed not only among the companies but perhaps among the company itself, and such work is beyond the usage of electronic box's disadvantage. Television progresses as well need full preparations beforehand, otherwise the ungrounded or superficial context would lead to change channel in audiences' handful charge. More high-profile television progress emerge(emerges), which not only tell what happens, but also analyze why and how it happened, which also inspire people to think carefully and comprehensively about the issue.

In sum, the speaker's worry has some merit that these electronic communications media would lead to rash answers or simple expression of issues. However, as people pay more attention to avoid such disadvantages, such methods are necessary and would do much good in nowadays society.

hehui的思维太发散了,我还是倾向于就题论题。

总体感觉思路和语言都很流畅,爽!

下面是scrutiny:

With the development of technology, the method of communication appears faster and more convenient, of the electronic mail and television. The speaker claims such methods tend to prevent meaningful and thoughtful communication. While I would mention some exceptions, I fundamentally agree with this viewpoint.(是不是反了?fundamentally 可是从根本上同意呀。而且从你结尾看,应是部分赞同/反对的,不应用这么绝对的词)

High-speed electronic communications media provides people to communicate or inform others too fast to make a meaningful consideration. (这个表达太饶拉!High-speed electronic communications media operate too fast to convey meaningful ideas and thoughts如何)Turn first to electronic mail as an example. Nowadays, a great deal of people are inviting(invited)(想表达被吸引吗,attracted 把) by the convenient and less-expensive method of communication that not only among individuals, but among companies they would like to "email" each other. For those who open their email-box frequently, this method is rather effective enough to pass information. Meanwhile, this method always misleads(?是prevent吗) people to reply immediately. Imagine you hear a telephone ringing but not answer it-- the same feeling as you receive an electronic mail but not reply it. Thus it easily leads to somehow too rash or rush answers without comprehensive consideration.

Turn next to television, which is the most powerful mass media in today's world.(这个句子只能过度,没点主题,把主题句在表个态把) Every country has its famous and popular television professional channel for news both of domestic and all over the world, some of which provides a 24-hour news broadcasting with their people owning different spare time. Admittedly it offers convenience for their(its) audience, but it also brings about the too intensive arrangement in these(this) news that they may appear too slim and simple and even immediate to be meaningful and thoughtful progresses. These years there are lots of psychologists and anthropologists have suggested people to less focus on television for it spoils all the spare time from us with meaningless blank(两个词意思一样,用一个把) facts.

Actually, people today are inextricable(是个偏贬义的词,一般用于难逃厄运) from the advantages of such high-speed electronic communications mass media, because they whatsoever provide the swiftest approach to the outer world and to other people, which is indispensable in today's high-speed business society. Chances are fleeting, which only affords to catch up with it by electronic media, otherwise you will fall behind.

What's more, as people are more aware of the disadvantages of these high-speed electronic communications media, people have taken (应该用should 把?)measures to avoid them getting worse. Although people would like to use electronic mails as an immediate method to inform, they actually could prepare for the context what they would send fully before they open the email-box. As companies transfer contracts by electronic mails, the precedent discussing, bargaining, and drawing about the contracts are needed not only among the companies but perhaps among the company itself, and such work is beyond the usage of electronic box's(?什么东西) disadvantage. Television progresses as well need full preparations beforehand, otherwise the ungrounded or superficial context would lead to change channel in audiences' handful charge. More high-profile television progress emerge(emerges), which not only tell (s)what happens, but also analyze why and how it happened, which also inspire people to think carefully and comprehensively about the issue.

In sum, the speaker's worry has some merit that these electronic communications media would lead to rash answers or simple expression of issues. However, as people pay more attention to avoid such disadvantages, such methods are necessary and would do much good in nowadays society.
