My article:
It is clear that apparent differences have crucial meanings, but it dose not follow that similarities among ideas, individuals, and groups should be neglected, for they also have their own values.
Differences between ideas, individuals, and groups are the impetus to the society and human civilization. If in a certain society, all the people hold the same views, then how do revolutionary progress and originality come from? That is to say, without differences, then there will de no need to develop, because nobody tries to consider a thing in a different way. People can imagine that if in the last century, Einstein did not come up with special and general theories of relativity that revolutionized modern thought on the nature of space and time, people are still defined by the Newton's classical physics. It is Einstein who paid attention to the differences of subjects when they act in different conditions, the physics goes into a brand-new field-- the relative world. For there do exist apparent differences between ideas, individuals, and groups, people intend to look into the essence of such departure and research which factor contributes to the distinctness, and then in the procedure of exploring, people achieve more deep understanding about these subjects. Therefore in the modern society, different groups of people who hold conflicting views often discuss or debate with each other, sometimes they even attack the opposite. However, such contravention not only deepen each part's views via letting them pay attention to their both superior and drawbacks but also droaden their insight towards subjects . So, in a word, without differences, people can not observe the things clearly and can not judge the right from wrong, the sincerity from sin and so on, then the society can not develop continuously.
However, similarities among ideas, individuals, and groups also have their own unparalleled values. A society can advance ahead, for all its members have the same purposes---more brighter future, more developed life and more happy time. If there are no similarities towards people, they will conflict with each other all day and may have no time and energy to strive for the overall happiness of the whole human beings. Just like in a football team, the only purpose is to goal more and to win the game. If each member wants to be hero and just play for his own honor, then there always comes dad luck. Therefore, similarities are the preconditions of cooperation and co-prosperity. Without similarities among ideas, individuals, and groups, people cannot tolerate together and work harmoniously. So many achievements will not exist and appear again. After all, when people unite together corporately for the common goal they often show unforeseen originality and power.
To draw a conclusion, these two elements are essential to the course of the mankind's history, and we should treat them with the same eyes.
