PROVIDENCE COLLEGE (RI) LAUNCHES NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WEBSITE
Providence College’s new International Student website details the application process for students applying from outside the United States. Providence College (PC) is still welcoming applications for the Class of 2018 through our Regular Decision deadline of January 15, 2014.

This year, PC celebrated the opening of the College’s new signature academic building, the Ruane Center for the Humanities. Symbolizing PC’s commitment to the liberal arts, the humanities, and undergraduate education, the building is home to PC’s hallmark Development of Western Civilization Program as well as the Liberal Arts Honors Program.

Another exciting milestone was the one-year anniversary of the Providence College School of Business (PCSB) receiving the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation. The distinction is considered the “gold standard” for college business programs, achieved by 30 percent in the United States and only 5 percent worldwide.

The Providence College School of Business embraces both the traditional business disciplines as well as incorporates the benefits of a liberal arts education. It provides a values-based education and allows students to think critically and harness self-reflection while focusing on a real-world experience. Small class sizes and student engagement in the PCSB are a key component of the Providence College business curriculum.

The University of Toledo's excellent Master of Public Administration (MPA) program provides graduates with the tools to launch prestigious careers. One prominent example of this phenomenon is 1994 alumnus Elin Suleymanov, who was recently appointed Ambassador to the United States by the government of his homeland of Azerbaijan. Earlier, Suleymanov served as senior counselor at the Foreign Relations Department, Office of the President, in Baku, Azerbaijan, and as press officer of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington, D.C.

His experience before joining diplomatic service includes working with the United Nations high commissioner for refugees in Azerbaijan, as well as with the Open Media Research Institute in Prague, Czech Republic, and Glaverbel Czech, a leading manufacturing company in East-Central Europe.

The 1994 UT alumnus has authored numerous articles and is a frequent presenter at academic events. He speaks Azerbaijani, English, Russian and Czech languages.
