请问如何理解啊？
后半句说这个历史学家的语言风格是非常晦涩难懂的（crabbed),但前半句又说the translations give a bad idea of it。那应该取反？选C?
但the so-called ‘good’应该实际上是对translations的贬义。
我实在是绕晕了。。
求大神讲解如何解题以及这句话到底想表达什么？

后面两空很显而易见了，第一空为什么选characterized呢？是固定搭配么？ 可以选A么？

答案认为：因为原文写得不好，只有贴近原文的翻译才能给人们留下“不好的印象(bad idea)”。
我认为：题目想表达的是翻译和原文不符，所以取反是对的。
这两道题都很烦，我选择了无视。 1意思是：
原文作者写得很晦涩crabbed
但是“好”（注意这里是讽刺）的翻译使它变得易读
却是让读者误解了原作者的语言特点（以为原文也像翻译一样易解）。 2 demarcate 有delimit的意思，表示define the limits of，即画出界限。
解题重点在第二句的single track,有表示不够的意思。总体在说阿拉斯加这个地方交通太不方便了。
所以它的交通地图在很大程度上显示了（受制于）它显示的几条公路铁路。
于是第二句话成立，唯有一条主干把该州一分为二和东，南方向几条破路，阿拉斯加确实是个缺乏交通选择的地方。 annaleah099 发表于 2018-12-5 09:12 static/image/common/back.gif

我觉得应该是这里的“好”翻译依旧保持了原文晦涩难懂的确定，所以传统意义上的好翻译(true to the original)在这个context下面不再属于好翻译了
