IELTS7-Test1-Writing Task 1The table shows what kind of items people bought in five countries in 2002. It can be easily seen that they all spent most money on food/drinks/tobacco. Among these five countries, Turkish people used most money to buy food/drinks/tobacco, which reached to 32.14% of the whole expenditure. Ireland came as the second with 28.91% while there were no dramatic differences between Italy (16.36%), Spain (18.8%) and Sweden (15.77%). When it comes to clothing/footwear, people in Italy spent most money, which accounts for 9%, on clothes and shoes while Sweden used the least percentage of their expenditure (5.4%) on it. It is also noticeable that how much money it cost for them on leisure/education. Turkey was again in the first place with 4.35%. Sweden (3.20%) and Italy (3.22%) spent almost the same percentage, ranking as second and third. Spain was the least (1.98%), less than half of Turkey. To sum up, Turkey spent more on food and education than other countries and Italy used most money on fashion. (168)
