Dear XXX,
It is good news for you.(因为我说我找到了一个internship)
However there are some issues you need to consider:
1) Internship basically means you stop study and take up internship
work up for one semester. You cannot do the internship concurrently
with your full time study.
2) At the moment, UST full-time students may take up part-time work
on-campus
employment for 10 hours per week during term time and 20 hours during
winter break. Therefore you cannot complete your internship during the
semester when you are studying.
3) For students of programs offering internship opportunities (Telecom is
such a program),
the internship should not be longer than 1/3 of the duration of the
program. For most programs this means you should
take one semester out of your study and do the internship during
this period.
In your case, you cannot therefore do the internship concurrently with your
study
in this semester. You could accept it over the winter and then extend it
into next semester.
However if you extend into next semester you would need to take a semester
off from study. It would also imply that your choices of courses would need
to be modified and you would not be able to follow the usual telecom study
pattern. You may also be able to start it immediately
but you would then need to stop your current semester of work (I am not sure
of that is possible at the moment since it is late in the semester).

原則上簽證不能斷, 但是, 有同學曾經問過“萬一由于某些原因斷了2天”(不是開玩笑，我有一個同學確實簽證斷了2天, 就是舊簽證到期了, 新簽證是2天后才開始的)怎么辦？出入境管理的人說“case by case” 本帖最后由 bananababy 于 2009-4-7 12:57 编辑
