As far as I know, it is really hard for an international student to find a job (to apply for h1b visa) or to get FA in grad school with only a history major. If you like history you can always read as many books as you want or take some history courses BESIDES your major. Snoopy I agree with everything you said, but trust me, for your own sake dont be a history major (a minor is fine), otherwise you would make a lot of things harder for yourself. Going to a medical/engineering school with a history major? You can always try but I would not be so optimistic

At this stage of life you might think that money is not as important, but later you might find out that a job or a FA offer from a grad school is more important than your knowlege of history or spirit of liberal arts...If your family is wealthy enough to pay for grad school you can ignore my word
