Applicants for transfer must have completed one full year of study (a minimum of 28credits but no more than 33credits) and be in good standing at a law school that is a member of the Association of American Law Schools or is approved by the Section on Legal Education of the American Bar Association. Transfer applicants are admitted for the fall term only, must have completed first-year course work by July 1 in order to apply, and are not eligible to apply if more than five years have elapsed since they last attended law school.

If interested in J.D. study at NYU School of Law, they must apply to and, if admitted, enroll in and complete the full three year J.D. program.
