The table provides the breakdown of the underground railway systems in six cities.
London, built in 1863, is the fist country have a underground railway system, and the city of Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto succeed on by one and Log Angles’s underground railway system , built in 2001, is the newest one in all the six countries.
However, it seems that cities tend to construct short-way underground railway. We find that London’s underground railway system is the longest one about 394 kilometers long. Meanwhile, the new underground railway in Kyoto, built in 1981, is the shortest one.
As to the utilizing rate, the results are various. The newest two underground railways in Kyoto and LA, making for short-way travel, have the least passengers, which are 45 and 50 respectively. However, the quite old one of Tokyo, which is 155km, provides services for 1927 people every year. We can also say that London’s underground railway system is still very effective, because it has 775 passengers, which is only less than that of Tokyo and Paris.
