With society moving forward at astaggering rate in thisage of change, international tourism is being stimulatedunprecedentedly. Yet at the same time, a vast number of problems haveemerged, a disturbing one of which is that, instead be moremind-broadened,international tourism sometimes render people biased.This issuehas drawn widespread concerns. In this essay, I will analyze somepossible causes relatedto this phenomenon and then propose somepractical solutions.
It is manifest that a wide range of factors contributeto this situation. In the first place, due to enormousdiversities of anattraction place in different seasons, international tourists may beimpressed differently if they go to travel in different time, they aretherefore likely to have biased opinions even for the same site. In thesecond place,international tourists would also be misguided by thedisparities between different areas even in the same country. Forinstance, foreign tourists will definitelyexpress dissimilarly aboutthe experience between travelling to the west andeast of China.Finally, it is an indisputable fact that some foreign tourists may bedeceived or treated rudely by local residents, and thus have aprejudicetoward their destinations even though most of the local peopleare kind and hospitable.
Accordingly, the solutions tothis problem should be varied as well. As for the first two reasons offeredabove, international tourist should be cautious and careful beforegettingtheir final viewpoints. In other words, they should try theirbest to acknowledge their destinations from various levels, spatiallyand temporarily,only when they have a comprehensive understanding aboutwhere they go to canthey be mind-broadened. In addition, internationaltourists should make use ofthe opportunities available to communicatewith the local residents as much aspossible, or they are also likely tobecome prejudiced if only with a superficial understanding.
To summarize, the causes of prejudiced ideas caused byinternational travel are diverse. However, I am fully convinced thatinternational tourism will serve as a beneficial way to help peopleexpand their horizons if they can appreciate their destinations fromdifferent perspectives.
