Do you agree or disagreewith the following statement? Movies and TV programs made in one’s own countryare more interesting than those made in other countries.

Along with the development of mediaindustry and modern technology, nowadays people are able to share various andcountless movies and TV programs all around the world. Different kinds ofmovies and TV programs intrigue different kinds of people. Majority believesthat people tend to choose movies and programs made in their own country whichare more interesting than those made in other countries. But from myperspective, those made in other countries might not be less appealing and mypersonal reasons are presented as follows.

For one thing, how do we define beinginteresting? It is obvious that different people are interested in differentfield. For a movie or program in the field that attracts one person, in his orher opinion, the one will be interesting. But when the same movie or program isplayed to another person that has little interest in this area, he or she maythink it is boring. So it is hard to draw a sheer conclusion whether a movie orprogram is interesting or not. As to the topic, concerning culture divergence amongcountries, people will definitely get used to culture in their own countries sothat the movies and programs made in their countries, which relate to theirfamiliar field, will intrigue them most. For instance, European like sweet andinsipid food while Chinese prefer spicy and salty ones. It is common that Europeanhardly enjoy Chinese dishes when they come to China. But you can’t say thatChinese food taste bad. That makes sense in programs and movies across thecountries, too. Thereby, the assertion that other countries’ movies and programsare less interesting is a one-side view.

Another important point we have to admit isthat cultural divergence is not the only factor that influence people’sjudgment about movies and programs. Set my brother for example. As most boysdo, he is crazy about all kinds of vehicles and his favourite program is madein America, that introduces diverse vehicles with their extremely capabilities,such as driving in the sewer or drifting for 180 degrees. He thinks this iscool and original program like this has never performed in China indeed. However,for girls, it is still tedious. So we cannot define whether the program ormovie is interesting only depends on its nationality.

As a whole, from what we have beendiscussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that whether a movie orprogram is defined as being interesting relies on different audience and thecountry it come from merely plays a part.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? If you do not make sure other people (especially influential people or your employers) know about your strengths and accomplishments, you will never get successful in life

When it comes to the controversy thatwhether people should present their strengths and accomplishments toinfluential people or their employers to get success, many people think personalachievement shouldn’t depend on others and people will finally success withtheir talent. But in my opinion, only strengths and accomplishment or inanother word, talent, can’t lead people to success. As a prerequisite, you mustbe recognized by others according to my personal experience.

To begin with, success is not the talentitself but how you use the talent on correspond circumstance. So here are twosignificant factors: talent and circumstance. If people have no chance to use theirtalent or apply their knowledge into practice, their strengths andaccomplishments will be meaningless to success. But recognized by others offertalent person opportunities. Especially with the appreciation from thoseinfluential people or employers who are capable to provide good opportunities,success will be more possible. For example, a famous lyricist in China Taiwan,Fang Wenshan, was no more than a common person. He was good at writing but noone cared about this until one day his works were highly praised by a leader inTaiwan entertainment industry—Wu Zongxian—who offered Fang a chance to cooperatewith excellent composers so that many well-know songs are born and all peopleare amazed at Fang’s talent.

Furthermore, making sure that yourstrengths and accomplishments are known by other people will help you toimprove yourself. And that is a crucial point to success. Recognition is a sortof encouragement, which motivates people to spare no effort to improve theirtalent with confidence. Also the better chance that provided by others likeinfluential people or employers contribute to exploring more potential through applyingthe talents into practice and cooperation with other excellent person who sharethe same talent. In this way, you will be closer to success.

In a nutshell, people should show theirstrengths and accomplishments to others thus they will get better chance to bothuse and improve their talent, which will lead them to success.

( I agree with your reasoning in last paragraph but not satisfy with the “food” example, why not directly use a movie or TV example?)
