66. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Has it occurred to you that your questions are not beyond the scope of your parents’ capability? This genre of phenomenon disturbed me for a long time. It is realistic to consider whether they are the most significant one who influence us on our success. As we are gradually going into the adulthood, our parents play less important role in leading us to the success. In the meantime however, our classmates make a large impact on us.

Supposed we are in schools, the people we spent most time with are our classmates not our parents. While having problem parents won’t be the persons who search for help, instead our classmates act as the role that help and affect us. As the saying goes, a man depends upon his parents at home and upon his friends abroad. It excellently define that friends, namely, classmates in school influence us the most.
In school classmates who have almost the same experience and expertise as we do, to some extent, are able to interchange their individual concept with us. With the idea given by people who has common experience and expertise with us, we will discover the delight of success brought by our classmates. For example while carrying out a chemical experiment; one may fail to come up with the idea of making a perfect system which includes tail gas absorbing, deposition filtering etc. However, classmates with the supposed knowledge will enable you to cope with the supposed issue and finally to succeed.

In addition, parents’ concepts are in a way antiquated to us, in other word, we partly have a generation gap with them anyhow. It has been thought that parents always intend to make their child follow their wishes. But it probably is the obstacle of us being successful. For instance, a boy attempts to be an engineer but his parents force him to be a doctor as his father does. Yet he follows his parents’ will, his is not successful indeed. It shows how bad parents may influence on child’s success.

To some degree parents constructively affect child on his/her success. Among all the factors I am concerned, classmates is more crucial than parents on one’s success in school.

157. In the future, students may have the choice of studying at home by using technology such as computers or televisions or of studying at traditional schools. Which do you prefer? Use reasons and specific details to explain your choice.

It has been 300 years since the first public university in America was founded in Boston. It used to be a university of only 9 students, however its reputation has spread across the globe and talented people gather at the renowned academy till now. I supposed that its reputation will not eliminate in the future, on the contrary, more and more talented compete to enter the university. Even though the technology has developed, computers or televisions won’t instead the status of traditional schools.
As the frequency of using computer was greater than ever before, people recently have found that it is common to detect our spelling mistake have increased quite a few. For students, we are in the progress of requiring knowledge and establishing habit. If we start to study on the computers, the habit will incontrovertibly influence us throughout our lives. Once the bad habit is established, it will take further effort to regret it or even the bad habit will puzzle us for ages. Take me myself as an example: I have used to using computers to compose compositions or chat with friend. The language I use on the commuters is quite casual ignoring spelling and grammar. It directly leads up to my accuracy of spelling has been worse than ever.
Studying on the computers also contribute to a healthy trouble which the white-collar workers has experienced a lot. My mother has often complained about her eyes suffering from watching at the scream. She asks me to help her to drop eye drops every day morning in order to relieve her eye pressure. I believe that if we used computers or televisions to study, our eyes would have hard time to support us.
To study in schools will not have such these issues and also have more profits that computers and televisions won’t have. In schools we are able to make face to face communication with teachers and classmates, it enable us more easily to exchange our concepts. We’d also do some sports together since we study in a certain area. It is considered that do sports activities is a good method building up friendship, in another word, studying in traditional schools makes students closer.
Though technology have brought us with some of advantages which capacitate us to do something what we couldn’t do yesterday, it, in the meantime, brought plenty of side effects. Studying in the traditional schools will never be taken place, for it has developed a great many benefit to students.

According to my experience and expertise whether a person is considered as a successful one depends on plenty of factors, including knowledge, honesty, diligence, wealth etc. However, nowadays numerous people only take the money which a person earns as the standard of his/her success. As far as I am concerned, these kinds of theory are definitely wrong and haven’t got any justification.
There is no doubt that many or even most of people who are successful earn a large sum of money each year. As a matter of fact, we have to realize that even 99 percents of people who reach the success are wealthy; there is also a percent spare. However the percentage of those who haven’t earned much money hasn’t been so faint. I’m going to take one of our national short-track speeding skating athletes who have won a champion in last Winter Olympic Games as an example. She is a typical successful person for she has reached the peak of her region. It is hard to imagine that the Olympic Champion only receive 500 Yuan (nearly 80 Dollars) each month. She reaches to her success for her diligence and her potential in sports, but not the ability of earning money.
Generally when it comes to successful people, the public automatically think of celebrities who always earn lots of money, but regard ordinary people as unsuccessful one. It is caused by the perspective of successful has been changed in people’s mind. Why is a worker without a great deal of money unable to be successful? Working in the sun for whole day, a worker has finished all his tasks with high quality. He deserves to be considered as successful for he has paid effort to the assignment. It is not difficult to come up with following conclusion: either a person has implemented one’s duty or has achieved the dream is capable of being reckoned as successful.
Though many successful people obtain a large amount of money, it isn’t equivalent to people without a large sum of money cannot be accomplished. Knowledge makes a convincing man; honesty makes a reliable man; diligence makes a practical man and all of these make a successful man.
