Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: the telephone has greater effects on people than television.

As modern society develops, the advanced technology affects our life almost in every corners, deeply and thoroughly, among them, the two significant inventions, telephones and Televisions, indeed root in everyone of us profoundly during the past 100 years. Someone hold the ideas that the telephone affects us much more than the television while the others disagree with them. From my angle, the telephones do exert more considerable influence on people’s lives than the televisions.

First and foremost, the communicating tools invented 150 years ago gave us a critical impact on us; it virtually evoked a communicating methods revolution among human beings at that time, think about these facts: communicating between continents was made possible, information exchanging turned out to be more convenient. Before this invention appeared, such a communication could only be happened between two persons face to face or the delivery of letters. But now, as long as we hold a telephone in hands, we can contact with our family members at any place of the world. In the mean time, the wide spread of telephone also stimulate the telephone communication business and technology, more corporations tool part in this terrain which made the cost of telephone communicating much lower, and the technology of swift routes exchange is become more mature, consequently result in a branch technologies such as wireless communicating method, that help us enjoy our life more freely.

Further more, the information exchange is becoming more convenience and faster, as we all know that in modern society, the information sometimes equals, or even much more than wealth, one piece of crucial message may determine the whole situation or cause a considerable reversion. A great example is the Rothschild family successfully received the information of the war consequence between British and France transmitted by horses before anyone else in the stock market in 18th century, which helped them wisely made the decision that latterly create numerous wealth for this legendary family. However, if the same thing happened now days, the modern telephone technology will send this explosive news at the first time. another example is the information interaction among armies, latest progress of battle are able to transmitted to the commander via telephone line during the II World War, which helped to decide and modify an appropriate battle plan. The information exchange rapidly totally influences our lives no matter during the business competition or the war time.

However, the television also shows its significant contribution to human being. From entertainment to video lives, our leisure time is almost dominated by TV programs. Admit or not, the television impacts us profoundly, which make itself an indispensable part of our lives, however, the information transmitted by the television goes one way only, which impels us receives passively, without the communicating progress, the TV just plays an cameo role on the stage of communication.

From what have been discussed above, it can be directly concluded that the telephone exerts more influence on human lives than the television, no matter on the communicating level or the convenience level.
