Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career.
Needless to say, either trying different jobs or taking a long term career is right for young people, since they do can benifit young people in different perspectives. However, is it necessary to pick up the better one between them? Definitely I believe that there is little value to do so, due to no approciate method or specific meaning.
First of all, trying different jobs enable young people to learn what they can't acquire in the classroom. Not only will different jobs provide young people with different pratical experience, but also broaden their horizon, all of which are precious for them in the future life. For instance, my brother who major in software has changed jobs 3 times. However, after each transfer, he can get a higher wage, since he learns a lot from his last job which improve his ability to develop the software.
Second, even though we can benifit from the transfer of job, we must choose a certain job as soon as possible, since only a steady job can give us a chance to promote. This is because that the manage possition will only give the person who has worked a long time in the company. Take the elite in the bussiness, Mr. Tang as an example. He has worked in the 163 over 20 years. And in the 20 years, he has promoted step by the step, from a normal worker to a director, then to a associate manager, finally to a manager. Just like his statement in self-biography, it was the loyalty to the company that help him arrive this position.
Furthermore, there is no meaning to evaluate which option is better, trying different jobs or taking a long term career. Firstly, different person hold different opinion and reasons, just like different preference in eating, where doesn't exist an unconditional crterion. On the other hand, even we find the better between them, it has no practical effects. Such solution can't do a favor to make the young people's career easier, nor make young people's dream come true. Then, why should we do that?
Summarizing the points above, I prefer to conclude trying different jobs the same important as taking a long term career. Everyone should think highly of both, instead of a so-called better one. Only then will we have a successful and colorful career. |
