1.15Do you prefer to finish a project completely then to start another one or to do several projects at a time?

No matter what kind of student you are, or what occupation you take, we are all confronted with the same problem that is how to budget our time to complete the assignment delivered by our teacher, our boss, or even ourselves. Some people form the habit of doing several projects concurrently, just like the double core computer working in multi-thread pattern. However, I would like to finish one task and then get down to the next one. I prefer eating the cake piece by piece.

To commence with the new project after getting done with the former one is the pattern I get used to. I always could not help myself thinking of the unfinished one, so that it is hard for me to leave it half-done. I am a university student majored in computer science. When I start doing my coding project using the C language on my laptop, my mind will be all about it. The leisure time such as the interval between my classes is even used to think about the algorithm to improve my code. I just can not drag myself out of thinking about it before it done.

Another reason for my preference is that I think to finish one thing without break is more efficient in doing the whole project. I have tried to do several project altogether, but that demands me to break my time into small intervals and distribute it to different projects. Thus, I will have to stop the former one at times, and start to do it some days later. The next time I get back to the previous project I will have to recall all the detail and mechanism I used some days before. Sometimes, reviewing what I have done may cost a relatively long time. So I would rather save that, and done it with continuous thought.

However, I still have got into the situation that I cannot complete a project in a short period of time, and my workload does not allow me to be fully focused on a singular task. To complete all tasks before deadline I also learn to arrange my time to handle several tasks together. Sometimes the idea occurred to me in one project may help me find solutions in another one, though this may rarely happen. I think the ability to arrange one's time to do several projects simultaneously is a lesson one should learn, no matter what preference he or she has.

As a conclusion, I prefer doing project one by one because my working pattern drives me to, and I think it is more efficient in this way. However, I still insist that everyone should know how to budget time to get work done before the deadline. In this circumstance, to learn how to deal with several tasks concurrently is a must.

The passage revealed a phenomenon that recently people spend much lesstime on reading the literature which may have unfortunate effects. However theprofessor does not believe so.

The passage said as a result of the phenomenon the public will become lesscreative and decrease their understanding of language. However, the speakerpointed out the literature should include not only novel but also booksrelating to scientific works, history and political analysis. These wide rangesof literature are of high quality and may stimulate people think creatively aswell.

The passage also said that the less of reading of literature lower thelevel of culture in general. The speaker states that the culture should not beconfined to the mere literature. The music and movie are also the sources ofgaining the sense of culture. Especially in the contemporary era, people havemuch more concern through different expression method.

At last the passage pointed out that the writing is likely to decline as aresult. But the speaker contends that it is not the readers fault to be blamedfor. The authors now intend to write difficult passage so that even those whowould like to read at one epoch would not read now. So the decline ofliterature itself has nothing to do with the public preference of reading.

As a conclusion the speaker thinks the writer overemphasize the bad effectbrought about by the decreasing in reading of literature.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better to spend money on travelling and vocation than to save money for future?

Some people would make rigid plan for them to stick to, so that they can accomplish something great in the future. I really admire those who can held off their temptation, but I contend that one should always live on the current, and enjoy each day as it comes, rather than waiting for the supposed wonderful future. As a result, I agree it is better to spend money on travelling and vocation than to save money for future.

Future is full of change and variability, so one can never make a plan to predict what will happen. There are two possible reasons for people to save the money. One is for proper using in the future. For example, if a person who want to buy a car but right now he or she do not possess that amount of money, reasonably he or she would not spend the extra money on activities like travelling. However, if in the similar situation, I personally would like to pay the car with the mortgage and buy cars as soon as possible, so that I can enjoy the car the right now. Sometimes, the money put aside for the future may not go to what they are supposed to, as an outcome one may miss the opportunities to use that money. The other reason is people may save money in case of accident.　Now as the insurance business is prosperous and advanced, I do not think it is necessary to put aside money out of that concern.

Travelling is good for one's development on the long run so it is worth to spend money on. People may change their view of the world and gain useful perspective through it. In a movie shoot by a Hong Kong director, I was impressed by a scene that a father asked his daughter whether she like to travel around the world or to study at an university. In his eyes, through travelling one can gain as much as studying in a university. Though people may get different knowledge, the experience generated along the road one travelled is much more colorful and practical.

Besides, one should take the present situation into account. If a person without money to sustain regular and basic life still wants to travel in pursuit of pleasure, I would consider him to be hopeless. The hard work and faithful belief are necessary to alter one’s pitiful current life to a better one. The pleasure one could get from vocation and travelling is only part of the life, like the salt and sugar for cooking, but not the main dish of the meal. Other meaningful activities are deserved to spend money on.

In conclusion, One should always live in the current so as to enjoy the whole life. The travelling and vacation are beneficial to person's development so I agree to spend relatively large amount of money on it, but they are not the only and primary target one should pursue.
