49.Claim: We can usually learn much more from people whose views we share than from those whose views contradict our own.
   Reason: Disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning.


When referring to the same issue, everyone has him or her particular viewpoint. Some people may share the mutual idea, while others’ opinions can be quite different. However, whether disagreements are detrimental and from which kind of individuals will we learn more are   personal matters that can not be determined absolutely as the argument does.

In my perspective, the reason given above is not absolutely acknowledged. Disagreement, to some extent, can lead to some pressure, but it is not the obstacle of learning.When analyzing an issue, people may judge it from different slants, then arises the divergence. Everybody is trying to persuade others into his or her distinct opinion, which lies heavy stress on both dissenters and ourselves.However, since most of us are limited to take all aspects into consideration, the disagreement from others can serve as a supplement of this deficiency. Hence, we will learn to observe problems from different angles and absorb scintillate ideas from those who do not possess the same view with us.

As for the claim, I consider that it depends on which sort of people are holding the contrary views. The more proficient those person in the field you discuss about, the more you can learn from them. Because they own plenty of experience which help them become more insightful and can always concluded in the correct argument. Take myself as an instances, when I was at primary school, my classmates and I always complained about the foolproof exercises of addition and subtraction , regarding it as a waste of time since we already acquired the solving methods. However, our teacher maintained that this was the fundamental of all math problems, therefore, we needed to practice until we were certain no mistakes would be made. This standpoint was justified in our further study, and compared with the students who hold the identical view with me, I unequivocally benefited more from my teacher.

One the other hand, if the person who disagrees with you is a layman, then you would better turn to someone that is at least as professional as you are. In this circumstance, it is possible that opinions of the dissenters are lack of credibility , and the people sharing the views with you will offer more valuable things. Assuming that you are a fan of doing sports, if a sluggard teaches you the ways of exercise, do you think there contains any practical worth in his or her words? In contrast, the person that is also fond of sports will be a partner whom you can learn from.

The causal relationship between the claim and reason needs to be scrutinized too. Now that the reason is ungrounded, it certainly can not result in the claim. Even if it is justifiable, we are not able to conclude that there is no drawback when learning from those who agree with you. Chances are that your viewpoint is problematic itself, then you will obtain nothing useful from the same wrong ideas.

In a nutshell,we should not reach the conclusion mentioned in the statement so hastily.When the disagreement occurs, we have to carefully examine ourselves as well as others. That is the method to attain the optimum decision of which one we ought to learn from.

第一次完整写ISSUE 时间肯定超了不知道多少 但因刚刚接触所以还是想把重心多放在思路上 求各位G友点评拍砖!我也会回批的 谢谢大家~
