就是那篇开头为 "In the early twentieth century, the idea that pianists should be musician-scholars whose playing reflected the way composers wanted their music to sound replaced the notion that pianists should be virtuosos whose performances thrilled audiences with emotional daring and showy displays of technique. " 的文章.

我有两句话和一个题目搞不明白.
第二段首句:
"Her playing was Romantic, but it was at least as close in spirit to the style of playing intended by composers of the Baroque (1600–1750) and Classical (1750–1830) eras, as have been the more exacting but less emotionally resonant interpretations of most harpsichordists since Landowska."
这句话的意思是:L这个人的作曲是罗曼蒂克风格,但同时又在精神上和Baroque的作曲家以及classical eras的风格很相似,从L之后的Harpsichordist作品风格更严格并且很少涉及到情感共振(后面这半句我很不之所错,不知道如何理解,我知道是个倒桩 as the more exacting but less emotionally resonant interpretations of most harpsichordists since Landowska have been 但是看到两个as...as隔得这么远大脑真的罢工了)
The passage suggests that L`s playing embodied a rejection of which of the following?"
我选的是A答案, emotionally resonant interpretations of musical works.

The piano repertoire, it began to be felt, was extensive enough without reverting to transcriptions of
Baroque music originally written for the harpsichord—and piano performances of Bach and Scarlatti were, despite the obvious similarities between the harpsichord and the piano, transcriptions, no matter how faithfully the original notes were played.

第二句
The piano repertoire, it began to be felt, was extensive enough without reverting to transcriptions of Baroque music originally written for the harpsichord—and piano performances of Bach and Scarlatti were, despite the obvious similarities between the harpsichord and the piano, transcriptions, no matter how faithfully the original notes were played.
这个句子的大结构其实和“Tom has a pen and Sam has an apple”是一样的, 都是用and连接起来的并列句, 只不过它又用逗号插入了一些观点.
before and: it began to be felt作插入语修饰主语piano repertoir, 也就是说这些曲目“开始时给人的感觉是...”; 接着was extensive enough是说这些曲目足够丰富; 然后without引导的是一个条件状语“(即便)在某种条件下”, revert to就是go back to的意思, originally written for the harpsichord作后置定语修饰Baroque music. The piano repertoire was extensive (even) without such reverting,
after and: despite the obvious similarities between the harpsichord and the piano仍然是一个插入语“尽管h和p之间有着明显的similarities”; no matter how faithfully the original notes were played也依然是一个条件状语“无论original notes是如何被弹奏的”. Piano performances were transcriptions despite some situations existed.

Her playing was Romantic, but it was at least as close in spirit to the style of playing intended by composers of the Baroque (1600–1750) and Classical (1750–1830) eras, as have been the more exacting but less emotionally resonant interpretations of most harpsichordists since Landowska.
Her playing was Romantic, but was close to both A and B at least in spirit, 也就是说她的playing是Romantic的, 但在spirit层面上却又近似于后两者(B and C是一种, resonant interpretations since herself又是一种). have been其实就是be的意思,  而且作者在第二个as后面又省略了in spirit to, 使得句子的结构变得格外难以辨认.

The passage suggests that L`s playing embodied a rejection of which of the following?
A: 首先回原文定位: more exacting but less emotionally resonant interpretations of most harpsichordists since Landowsk,  但less emotionally resonant的意思只是说这种elements在这种interpretations中的占比较少, 和rejection远非一个概念.
She was a genius at underlining the dramatic and emotional content of a piece, and to do so, she took liberties, all kinds of liberties, while nevertheless preserving the integrity of a composer's score. 选D.
