Advanced Manufacturing Processes Laboratory (http://amp.mech.ubc.ca/) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) welcomes to Ph.D. and Master applicants for 2018 Spring or Fall enrollment. Our research focuses on developing and improving the precision manufacturing processes based on the understanding of fundamental process mechanisms. The research is applied in the production of precision components in optics, biomedicine, aerospace and electronics areas. Our current research projects include: (1) Mechanics and dynamics of micro-cutting process; (3) Manufacturing for high-strength aerospace components; (4) Vibration assisted machining of brittle materials; (5) Surface texturing on bulk metallic glasses.
UBC is a famous public research University in Canada. The world University rank of UBC by Times Higher Education is 34. UBC is located in Vancouver, which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Please check the website (http://mech.ubc.ca/graduate/pros ... ation-instructions/) for details of graduate admission. The applicant should have strong background in manufacturing processes, mechanics, dynamics or materials engineering. Interested applicant please contact Dr. Jin by email xjin@mech.ubc.ca. Funding is generally provided to student as research assistantship.
