Job Title: Ph.D. in Computational Fluid Dynamics
A Ph.D. position is available at Villanova University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, to conduct numerical simulations of biological and physiological flows. The position provides financial support through a stipend of approximately $28,000 per year and a tuition waiver. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong background in numerical methods and programming skills. Previous in-house code development experience is strongly preferred. The candidate is expected to start in spring or fall 2019, but the highly qualified candidate is also welcome to begin in fall 2018.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics and computational methods
• Strong programming skills using Fortran is preferred
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.
• A thesis-based Master’s degree is preferred.
• GRE Quantitative section >=160
• TOEFL>=85 or IELTS>=7 for foreign students
