写在前面

   本文收集了近两年来寄托上由版友分享的100多页帖子，以及抱团交流群里近3个月以来所有关于LSAC的官方回复。不难发现，在几千个回复和上万条发言中，有许多是申请者在LSAC的使用过程中遇到的这样那样的问题。然而，真正通过LSAC官方回复并解决的问题却相当稀少。我们支付了和购买了LSAC的服务，但却常常因为这样那样的原因和借口不去利用这项服务，或者干脆做一个伸手党。

   本文是一个对LSAC的官方汇总，一方面，是对手册的补充，因为新问题新情况总是时刻在发生；另一方面，是对前人经验的搜集与致敬。到了申请旺季LSAC可能会因为时差、效率等原因不能及时解决申请者面临的问题。更重要的是，我们希望广大申请者能积极通过与LSAC交流解决自己问题，并通过寄托，通过手册等途径将这一部分经验沉淀，造福更多的人。

信息，永远是法律人最好的武器。

Q1  寄送材料，原件还是复印件？
因为下载了transcripts request form之后对一些细节问题拿不住，就给LSAC写了一封邮件详细询问了到底哪些必须是原件，哪些可以是复印件，翻译件需不需要盖章等等问题。

A1
We require an original transcript (or mark sheets) from the issuing school, in the native language, to be mailed to us in a sealed school envelope.  Absent an official envelope, we must at least find the official school seal or stamp over the sealed flap of the envelope.

It needs to come from the school – not from the candidate.  If the school issues only one original to the graduate, then we will accept a certified copy of the transcript, but it must be certified by the issuing school as a true & correct copy of the original, and it must still be mailed to us in a sealed school envelope from the school.

We require English translations for your transcripts or mark sheets.  Anyone may do the English translations, as long as they are literal translations.  They need not be certified.

For candidates of China, we also require a photocopy of the degree certificate and graduation certificate in Chinese, along with the English translation.

参考译文：我们要求学校开出的本国语言的原始成绩单，密封在学校信封里寄给我们。如果没有官方信封，我们至少要求在信封封口处有学校的密封章或者印记。
成绩单需要来自学校而不是申请者。如果学校只提供原件，我们接受复印件，但是一定要发出的学校确认是真实且正确的复印件，并且必须放在密封的学校信封中。
我们要求成绩单的英文翻译。任何人可以进行翻译，但是需要认证。对于中国的申请者，我们还需要学位证明和学历证明的中英文复印件。

Q2  申请者漏寄某些材料或者LSAC将申请者的某些材料遗失后的做法
我之前寄了学校英文翻译的学位证和毕业证给LSAC，他们收到后说还要中文的学位证和毕业证.我问能不能发email扫描件过去？

A2  可以。

Q3  关于LSAC的地址
A3.1
Box 8511 is an internal department at LSAC not a Post Office Box. Just use Dept. 8511 when you send the express envelope.

Q5.1  法律硕士(Juris Master)是不是first degree in law？
A5.1  问过LSAC，他们答复本科的双学位才是first degree in law，Juris Master并不是。法律和领域的本科双学位的学校也算是First Degree in Law.

Q5.2  本科二专、双学位，可不可以申请LLM.？
A5.2  问过LSAC，大多数情况可以。
编者注：建议与学校沟通这个问题，而非与LSAC。

Q6  CV和PS提供问题
我这边注册通过了LSAC系统，但是看到里面的Report是没有要求提交简历和PS的，是不是这两份文件我都要单独提交给我要申请的学校的？是否是要在系统里面添加一个学校，对方要走我的Report之后，这单独的两份文件我要到我申请的学校网站上提交或者纸质寄给对方？

LSAC的回复，大概意思是说，到时候申请的时候你要自己上传PS和CV到LSAC的网站，然后指出是有一个地方上传的，这个看来是不需要邮寄给LSAC的，自己上传就行（学校的申请页面里，在填写相关信息的下面，有上传attachment的地方）。

Q7  关于Request form是否需要和成绩单、推荐信一起密封进信封的问题
A7
Our concern is that we need to receive the official transcripts in a sealed official school envelope. Absent an official envelope, we must at least find the official school seal or stamp over the sealed flap of the envelope. If you must take responsibility for mailing transcripts, do not break the seal and do not write any notes, including your name & address, on the school envelope. The request forms can be sent loose, inside the express mailer, with the sealed envelopes.

参考译文：我们需要官方成绩放在密封的学校信封之中。如果没有官方信封，我们至少要求在信封封口处有学校的密封章或者印记。如果你自己负责寄送成绩单，不要打开密封好的信封，也不要在学校的信封上写任何笔记，包括你的名字或者地址。Request Form可以不放在密封信封里，但要和密封信封一起寄过来。

Q8.1  寄给LSAC的成绩单能否拼单
A8.1 已得到LSAC的邮件回复，只要确保申请人的成绩单分别装入独立的学校信封，这些学校信封是可以装入同一个快递信封的。

Q8.2  成绩单和推荐信可以装在同一个信封寄送吗？
A8.2 LSAC回复说可以，但是要保证独立密封。

Q8.3  关于在同一封express寄送本科和研究生成绩？
A8.3
Yes, you may place both of the sealed envelopes inside of one larger envelope, or express mailer, to send to us. Be sure you do not write on or open the sealed envelopes.

参考译文：是的，可以。你可以把本科、研究生的两个密封信封放在一个更大的信封中寄给我们。记得不能再密封上写字，也不能打开密封信封。

Q9  问问成绩单收到之后status上面显示new是表示开始evaluate了吗？
A9
This simply means that your transcript has been received and your file is waiting to be assigned to an evaluator who will complete the transcript evaluation report. Once your file has been assigned and the evaluator begins working on it, you will see the status change to "Under Review". It should only take a few days before you will see the status change.

参考译文：这表示你的成绩单已经收到了，你的档案正在等待被分派给将要完成你的评估报告的评估者。一旦你的档案被分派给评估者，他们将开始评估，你将会看到“Under Review”的状态。这将有几天的时间变成Under Review。

Q10.1  补寄排名问题的影响
假设有的成绩单已经送达了，评估正在进行或者已经完成，如果再寄成绩排名过去会不会有重新评估的程序，导致评估重新进行？如果重新进行评估，又会花多少时间？

A10.1
This depends on whether the statement is a non-rank statement or an actual ranking statement. If the document is a non-rank statement there is no need for the document to be submitted to AACRAO, it will simply be added to your account. If the document is a rank statement then it will have to be submitted to AACRAO to be added to the report. If the transcripts are evaluated before the ranking statement arrives it does take at least 3-5 business days for the report to be updated. Otherwise this doesn’t impact your ability to submit your applications.

参考译文：这要看是否为排名说明。如果文件是非排名文件，就不用提交给AACRAO，而是直接添加到你的账户。如果你的文件是排名说明，那么就会提交给AACRAO并加到报告中。如果成绩单在排名证明之前就已经评估完毕，至少还要3到5个工作日更新报告。除非这不影响你提交申请的能力。

Q10.2  如果排名在评估结果出来之后有了变动（由于其他同学多选了课等原因），应该重新寄送排名证明么？
A10.2 N/A

Q10.3  如果成绩在评估结果出来之后有了变动，应该补寄成绩单么？LSAC会不会重新评估么？假设成绩单已经发送给各个学校了怎么办？
A10.3 N/A

编者注：实践中transcript form 有一栏选填corrected / updated，应当就是解决这一问题的存在。

Q10.4  如果到大四上学期整个大学三年的成绩还没有完全给出，怎么办？
A10.4
you should arrange for a current transcript to be sent. When the grades for these courses are available, you should request that an updated transcript be sent to us for processing.

参考译文：你应该讲现在的成绩单安排寄送。等到你的成绩给出之后，你应该要求并进行成绩单的更新。

Q11  LSAC关于寄送排名证明的回复
A11
This is the way we have to receive rank statements, with no exceptions.  Rank statements or a statement of the non-rank policy of the institution must be prepared on university letterhead in the native language and enclosed in a sealed school envelope and posted to LSAC.  A literal English translation is also required.  Rank statements will be added to your transcript documents and included in your law school report that is sent to the requesting law school.

参考译文：你们学院开了，密封到学校的信封，封口盖学院的章，信封正面注明是RANKING就好。

Q12  我之后需不需要把这边交换的原始成绩单给LSAC？
A12  任何secondary education 都要credential transcripts。

Q13  雅思送分
A13  雅思考后服务网站显示成绩“已寄送”后，我给LSAC有四次邮件沟通，前两次他们的回复都是“your score is not yet available to download”，后两次回复是“Please let your test center know that LSAC is a STED RO organization that only accepts scores by electronic download. We do not use the TRF verification service nor do we accept paper scores.”可人家雅思的电子成绩寄送就是那个什么TRF verification service. 现在我的雅思成绩已经下载成功了，看来LSAC也是要使用TRF的

Q14.1  遇到ETS和LSAC寄送分数的bug和LSAC打太极的情况
A14.1 给学校发过邮件解释托福的问题，有的直接回复说do not require TOEFL score（JD），有的坚持让通过LSAC，只有少数的比较nice说可以让ETS直接寄给他们。第一种，虽然他们说不require，但总觉得一个有了一个高分他们也会看一下的，还是挺可惜的；第二种没办法；第三种也不保证不在LSAC report里的分数他们会怎么处理

A14.1.2 LSAC经常性不靠谱,买skype打电话投诉.电话后回复我邮件的是一个高一点级别的人虽然还是解决的很慢，但至少没有继续踢皮球。

Q14.2  LSAC多久收一次托福成绩？
A14.2  LSAC每周五收一次ETS的成绩，假期应该延迟，再过一个周五再问问吧；
"We do receive the scores electronically once a week from ETS."

Q15  打开LSAC页面无法添加研究生阶段的信息
A15  LSAC中transcripts里填的本科学历，然后下面是postsecondary attend 是可以添加硕士学历的意思吧，可是没法attend啊，在下面是secondary 我看指导贴里填的是高中，硕士学历要怎么填呢？
A14 写邮件去问了。他们需要你写邮件过去，给出LSAC Number和研究生阶段的信息，那边系统会自动帮你添加
嗯，邮件里告诉他们你需要添加学校，然后把添加学校的信息（学校名称，你的专业，入学时间，毕业时间）告诉他们，还附上你LSAC的账号。

Q16  LSAC为什么无法continue？
钱已经付过了，东西都寄出去了，进度条是100%，可是就是无法continue。
A16  一定要点preview。

Q17.1  推荐表没放在推荐信里寄出去了，需要重新寄吗？
A17.1 我发邮件问了，LSAC说没关系，和成绩单做法一样，可以放在密封信封外面一并寄送。
Q17.2  推荐信form怎么签名的问题
A17.2 You may sign the waiver on the form and then scan it and send the form electronically to your recommenders. The recommenders should print the form and enclose it with the signed original letter to be sent to LSAC.
Q18  LSAC寄送托福成绩能否删除旧的托福成绩的问题？
A18
Please note that once we receive a TOEFL or IELTS score, it cannot be deleted or replaced. There are no exceptions to this rule. In the event that we already have a score on file for you, and you decide to retest and have the new score sent to us, we will report both scores. The new score will not replace the previous, regardless of how long ago the previous score was reported. LSAC will report all English proficiency scores on your law school report.

If we receive your TOEFL or IELTS score(s) after your report has been completed and/or released to a participating law school, we will update your report to reflect your test results free of charge. The updated report will automatically be forwarded to the school(s) that previously received your report.

Q19  EA、RA成绩寄送是只用在DDL之前点assign，还是需要有时间间隔？
A19 如果是电子传送，不需要提前；如果是纸质寄送，需要提前。

Q20  今年的申请想推迟到明年，LSAC账号，推荐信什么的明年还能用吗？需要重新签发么？
A20  可以,我发邮件问过。不用重新签发。

Q21  PS和CV需要邮寄么？

You will upload the CV and PS to the application process. When you open up the application there is an area to upload such documents，so that they will be sent along with the application.

参考译文：不需要邮寄，学校的申请页面里，在填写相关信息的下面，有上传attachment的地方。

Q22  LLM和JD同时申请寄送材料的问题
A22  关于材料寄送问题，问了LSAC是需要两份成绩单和学位证、毕业证分开寄送还是可以一起寄送。下面是LSAC的回复。我的理解是，寄送一份也可以，收到后要求他们再转送材料就好了。不过我还是寄了两份，当然了，付费是要付两次的。今天刚寄出，给同样有这种困惑的朋友们一个参考。

Q23  已经confirm，关键信息修改的问题。
A23 电话问过LSAC，改名字、毕业时间等只需要用发邮件，附上account number
