“Mr. Kenneth Jarrett,
U.S. Consul General in Shanghai
Main Consulate General Compound
1469 Central Huaihai Road
(Huaihai Zhong Lu)
Shanghai, 20003
PR CHINA”
Me: Hi, I am going to XXX.
VO: Hi, nice to meet you. Put left finger on the red light.
Me: I know, then right?
VO: You have been rejected last time, why do you want to pursue a lower degree?
Me: I thought this issue for long time. Ma program suits me better.
VO: Tell me about your subject.
Me: I am interested in probability which is a very very useful tool to explor the modern market......
VO: What did your parents do ?
Me: My father works for his government, just like your works. My mother is a manager in a machine company.(尽量虚一点,不要太具体,因为VO明显不想深究了)
Me: It seems your works pretty tedious, do you like your job?
VO: It is OK. Go to window 12.
Me: Thanks for your great works. By the way, merry Chrismas!
VO: Thanks!
Dear sir, it is a emergency. I need to get my visa today to reserve my hot ticket.
Dear Consul Jarrett,
I would like to petition on behalf of Mr.XXX, who is seeking an F-1 visa for travel to
the United States in order to continue his graduate studies in the Mathematics Department at
XXX University. I have selected him from a very competitive pool of international
applicants not only for admission into our graduate program, but also with full support as a
graduate teaching assistant (GTA). The former is based on his excellent academic record, as well
as its suitability to the particular strengths of our Department here at XXX University. His
appointment as a graduate teaching assistant is predicated not only on strong academics, but also
on strong English-language skills, especially those involving spoken English.
This appointment has the additional benefit that the student's tuition is completely waived, resulting only in a
nominal fee payment of roughly $250 per semester. This appointment will continue
as long as the student remains in good standing.
In addition to the academic year [9-months] support, Mr. XX is also eligible to receive
summer support in the amount of [approximately] $3,000 bringing his total yearly support to
$14,723. Health insurance is available for graduate students at a very affordable rate.
I respectfully urge you to grant an expeditious processing of his F-1 visa in order to allow for
enough time to arrive in XXX, XXX, prior to January 4th, 2007. On that date we will
begin the necessary orientation and registration activities required of all of our incoming graduate
students, as well as the Department's orientation for new graduate teaching assistants. Any
unnecessary delays will very negatively impact his studies and imperil his GTA appointment.
Should you need any other information we will be happy to provide it to the best of our ability.
fir your careful consideration.
Thank you
Sincerely,
