English Language Placement Test
International students whose first language is not English must also take an Indiana University English language placement test. This test must be taken upon arrival at Indiana University and before initial registration. Diagnostic results from this test are used to prescribe specific English language courses to remediate weaknesses in English skills necessary for graduate-level study. International students who meet other admission criteria are admitted conditionally and their enrollment in graduate course work may be prohibited or restricted until English language deficiencies are remediated.

We accept official TOEFL scores sent directly to us by ETS that are no older than 18 months from the semester you wish to start your studies here. Students with a TOEFL score of 550 or higher are eligible for full academic classes. Students with a TOEFL score of less than 550 will be required to take English language classes until their TOEFL score is 550 or higher. Our school code for the TOEFL is 1051 with ETS.



We accept official GRE scores sent directly to us by ETS that are no older than 5 years. You should check with the individual department/program for their departmental score requirements. Our school code for the GRE is 1051 with ETS.

Regarding the computer GRE, it is my understanding that the graduate school here on campus still strongly recommend not to accept computer-based GRE from certain countries (including China) because of the problems with some cheaters (a few people can mess it up for everybody, huh?).

。
    我的信是直接发给EE的。
    发了N封，目前没收到CMU，Princeton，Northwestern U，U of Washington，
Vanderbilt U的回信，不过在它们的网页上可以查到他们不要或CBT或倾向PBT，toooooo  
old了。
    给我回信的如下：
    较明确的说prefer PBT的：
    Lehigh U

locations due to a security breach in the GRE examination. Applicants who

weight will be given to other criteria for admission and aid. )

    去年这个时候网上也盛传一时，大家从响应学校的网站上找到只言片语，
就各自理解，归并在一起，谓之不接受机考学校列表。从最终的申请结果来看，
这样的列表并没有给大家带来多大帮助，倒是有很大误导作用。最后很多人放
弃了申请很心仪的学校，可几乎没有哪个学校最后因为是机考成绩拒绝录取中
国学生。申请的时候寄托成绩只是一个指标罢了，大家把更多的精力放在申请
材料的准备上，成绩够了就别管了。如果你是在吃不准就写信给相应系的小米
问一下。
