Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Movies and TV programs made in one’s own country are more interesting than those made in other countries
Coincident with concerns about movies and TV programs has been the growing improvement of society and living standard over the recent years. Nowadays, people are beginning to believe that movie and TV programs made in their own country are more fascinating than those made in other countries. As for me, I am favor of this standpoint in respect that they really reflect our own life and provide more traditional culture.
First of all, it is commonly acknowledged that every country owns its exclusive life-style and habit all over the world. In the movies or TV programs, it is obvious to display distinctive life of different regions. For example, people in our country get use to eating food by the means of Kuaizi, while people of most western country like using knives and forks in their dinners. Even as an eastern country, there are many types of cooking that people in other areas have not seen in their country. So in all probability they cannot understand the content and meaning of eastern movies and TV programs. In addition, we always get into confusion during the time we are watching TV plays of other remote culture.
Furthermore, no one can deny the basic fact that traditional culture produces an extremely important influence on movies and TV programs, especially in certain historic story and folk tales. To a great degree, we appreciate art works such as movie and TV programs in aspect of tradition and culture. It was special meaningful things that we are interested in. A recent investigation by Chinese Academic of Science shows that more movies with historic and cultural meanings are more impressive among audiences in modern society. Experts points out that when people are watching the programs, they naturally connect their emotion with their own history and condition of country.
Considerable though the advantages that foreign movies enjoy in technology and vision are, they cannot compare with the advantages that own movies bring about, when spiritual factors are taken into consideration. People in large numbers tend to live under illusion that foreign movies with high technology and mature skills are the standards of movies. Also, they have a favorable attitude toward novelty of movies made in other countries. Unfortunately, they seem to fail to take account into that artistic and cultural value of movies authentically attracts audiences.
Form what has been discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that interest of native movies are much more, when compared with those of other countries. From my perspective, proper measures should be taken to enhance the quality of national movies and TV programs and great efforts should be made to guide people in building a wholesome outlook toward art works.
