1 people attend college or university for many different resons(for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowlege). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

As we all know, people attend college to learn new knowledge and skills. However, a truly good college education contents more than just giving us a degree. We are also given a chance to prepare for future career, master the skills to communicate with others and face to various situations independently. According to my personal experience, the valuable university life changes me a lot.

Obviously, the main goal of a qualified university is to develop an ability of learning by themselves. The skill will be used in their future career and life. Common sense tells me that no one will tell you how to deal with “computer architecture” projects, which you only knew a little before. Therefore, what should you do? Not complaining about your project manager, you should search for more information on the website to think about the answers. At that time, there will be no teacher which you can ask for help.

The second thing we get from the classroom is how to communicate with others. Having a charismatic personality will take a person far in any field. Almost all games in the society have socialization aspects deeply ingrained in them. For example, the basketball and football in the PE lessons both encourage a person to treat others with respect. This is known as having good sportsmanship. Of course respecting others is a social skill which we must learn if we are to success in life and career.

We also have more confidence to deal with various situations. We taste new things through the four years in the college. During these years, it may be the first time for us to make a presentation in the public; it may be the first time for us to live with other people, which come from other states and have their own special background; it may be the first time to interview with manager of the HR. it is through several “first” times that we draw lessons and experience.

In sum, the skills and knowledge which are not only learned from the book come from the four year college life. Consequently, people with different background are eager to have this value chance to enter the small “society”, where we prepare ourselves for the future.
