Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Playing sports teaches people more lessons about the life？



Most people enjoy watching sports and attending sports activities, but why do people keen on doing these things? Do they just feel exciting about the game? Maybe they never think about this question. But in my point of view, it’s not just because of the excitement of the games, more importantly, sports can teach people more lessons about the life.

Playing a kind of sport games is tough sometimes. Let me show you an example of the long-distance running. When people are running for a distance that is over fifty hundred meters, they are likely to give up in the middle of the period, since It is really not easy to run for over fifty hundred meters without a stop. Some people carry on with it while some are not. Here comes the point, those who reach the finishing line must have stronger hearts, and be more tougher in their lives. In this way, sports can educate people about the significance of persisting.

Some sports need corporation, such as basketball, which is very famous all around the world. People who like the NBA stars, and have faith in the game, surely would like to play it with their friends and colleagues. And they always play like this: one team against another. During the game, team members must corporate with the other members’ action. This will definitely enlighten people the importance of corporation with each other. Those who play well with team members, must have an excellent ability of working together with others and surely loved by people around him.

In a word, one should do more sports, as doing sports can not only perfect figures, improve health, but also make us more capable to live in the world.

11.29日作业，综合写作TPO4~
    Both the listening passage and the reading passage are arguing about whether dinosaurs are endotherms or poikilotherms. The professor’s opinion is strongly contrary to the article.
    In the listening part, the professor points out that at the time that dinosaurs lived in the polar regions, the temperature is warmer than that of today, and they can move to warmer places when the regions got cooler. So living in polar regions can not be seen as an evidence, but the article thinks this proves that dinosaurs are edotherms. This point is totally contrary to the listening part.
    Besides as the professor is saying, the leg position, under the bodies, of dinosaurs can be considered as a means to take more weight, so that they can grow larger, not an evidence. The article holds a different opinion, which consider the leg position is another strong certification of dinosaurs are edotherms.
    The last one, the professor says that the rapid body growth of dinosaurs may not because of the Haversion Canals, but the growth rings. As dinosaurs would stop growing in cooler periods. This point of view is also strongly against the article.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The best way to improve the quality of education in a country is to increase teachers’ salaries？
        Education is so important to a country, as it is related to the future improvement of the nation. Teachers, a group of people who are in charge of education are really hard and respected. But it is questionable to say that the best way to improve the quality of education in a country is to increase teachers’ salaries. Because, as far as I concerned, there isn’t any relationship between the two things.
        More salaries may encourage some teachers to apply their mind better to education, however, I bet most of them would spend the extra money to enjoy lives, doing things like travelling, drinking, even gambling. Thus, they will pay less attention to educate students instead. Therefore, higher salaries can rise uncertain performances of teachers. This will not surely increase the quality of education.
        I always agree that a good teacher should have a heart to teach and be eager to giving knowledge to students, instead of teaching for salary. Educational qualities among teachers is also significant for the quality of education. How to make the teacher more willing to teach, and how to teach efficiently, must be taken into consideration earlier than the rising of teachers’ salaries.
        Besides, if a government would like to apply a sum of money in educations, I think laying emphasis on the facilities of schools is more efficient. For instance, in my primary school and middle school, the lab facilities are really poor. We can not take the knowledge in adequately, because the lacking of practices. Things are also not good in my university, the living conditions can not satisfied us at all: we even don’t have an air conditioner! These are real problems. Moreover, the money can be used to add more trees and grasses to the school yard. In this way, students will have more comfortable to stay in the school and  then concentrate on study.
        After all，there are many ways to improve the quality of education, in addition to the increasing of teachers’ salaries. We should put our eyes on the things that are essences, like training teachers better or giving students better studying conditions and so forth.

  The reading passage and the listening part are discussing the utility of the ”great house”, made by the settlements of Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. The professor holds a different view to the author.
  First, the professor indicates that there are not enough fireworks for hundreds of families to live with. Besides, the room is not adequate for residential use. However, the article presents the points that the appearance of the “great houses” is similar to the “apartment buildings” at Taos, which is used for residential.
  Moreover, the professor states that there are no containers in the houses, and the grain maize would never just be put on the floor. That’s contrary to the author’s opinion that the houses is used to stor food supplies.
  Last, as to the professor, there are broken pots and building materials on the floor. If it is used as ceremonial centers, it won’t be this kind of thing leaving on the floor. That is also cast doubt on the author’s idea.
