下面是一篇去年帮一铁哥们修改的personal statement的文章，发在这里与大家分享，让大家在写ps或者rp的时候少一些迷茫。
当然专业不同，此文纯属一参考，愿起到抛砖引玉之功效~~期待更多的高手把申请经历与诸位分享，有更多的同学可以追求自己的梦想。
呵呵 时间有限也就不去认真排版了，文章中相关的人名，专业已经略去。写的不好的地方或者英文用法差错的地方也请大家批评指正。
Before starting my personal statement, it should be necessary to introduce myself briefly. Actually, my major is (XXXXX), belongs to material science, which have greatly closed relationship with (XXXXXX). With increasingly development of Science and technology, especially materials, as we know that which are widely used in every corner of our daily life, have changed our lifestyle and the way of thinking tremendously. I havea dream that one day I can devote myself into manufacturing industries, with thepractical skills regarding (XXXXXX), bringing more green to this world andmaking the whole society more coordinated and efficient.
Over the past four years of undergraduate life, besidesbeing serious and responsible to academic studies, I strivedas much as possible to involving myself into some pragmatic activities toenhance my integrated capability. For example, as an assistant director, theinternship experience in(xxxxxxx) as well as being selected as the monitor of theclass both give me precious opportunities to recognize self-superioritiesfurther, such as communication skills with strangers and considerablemanagement. Accordingly, with the view of my long-term career plan, combining self-advantagesand science background, I hope to have a chance to strive against current onthe choppy sea of technique and management as a governor.
As conventionally said, “strategy is a point of realizing dreams.” Till now what have existed in front of my face are comparative academicskills, internship experience accumulated from activities and comparatively clear recognition of myself. Compared with above conditions, on the contrary, itshould be admitted that I am just a beginner in the management in the reason of absence of systematic theory related to strategic management. Therefore, thisis the reason why I choose a major associated with enterprise management tohave further studies.
After comprehensively learning Msc Program offered byyour department, the course named after ”engineering enterprise management”attracts me a lot. The course “Product Development Management” is veryinteresting, just like a supply chain in the whole procedure, which involves productdesign, organizing and managing the development team. The golden principle inthe goods control field “Six Sigma Quality Management” covers the variousconcepts of quality management, and Plays an essential role in management ofmanufacturing industries. These courses offer me a good opportunity to expandthe view of industrial manufacturing, build a standard evaluated principle ofproducts and provide problem-based learning (PBL) management skills withprofessional theory.
On the other side, when I look towards myself, I realize thatI process the potential capability of learning the program well. Firstly, Ihave good research background and learning skills. I have professional theoreticbase on (xxxxx) and (xxxxxx). I can do research independently. I haveparticipated publishing 5 papers and my first author paper will be publishedsoon. My academic record ranked No.6 in my grade and got the enterprise scholarship.In the future if I meet the problems about (xxxxxx), I can handle them using myprofessional knowledge and experience. Secondly, I have some managementexperience. Serving for (xxxxxx) is not only a permanentcollected memory, but also improve my communication skill, negotiation skill,collaboration skill, problem-solved skill and so on. Therefore, the managementsense will help me connect my internship experiences with the management theoryand help me digest better.(这一段开头可以直接忽略，写的不好，第一人称“I”太多了）
During the process of application, I often imaged what mygraduate life would be like in Hong Kong, even though I have been here forthree times, and familiar with local customs, such as Cantonese, climate and food. In the processing road of graduate life, perhaps, pressure andchallenge will be encountered everywhere and anytime. However, only thing Ifirmly believed is that I have well prepared for stepping across the mountainof challenging life, no matter what obstacle I have met.
