Graduate Student Positions in Chemical Biology at the Georgia State University in Atlanta

There are a number of openings for PhD students in Professor Jun Yin’s lab at the Department of Chemistry, and the Center for Diagnostics and Therapeutics of the Georgia State University in Atlanta, USA. The Yin lab is developing methods to identify the substrate proteins of important E3 ubiquitin ligases, engineering E3 enzymes to control protein ubiquitination, and designing inhibitors to target protein modification by ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like proteins such as Nedd8 and SUMO. The graduate students will be trained in the broad area of chemical biology and develop strong research skills such as engineering enzymes to acquire desired catalytic activities, using proteomics to map cell signaling pathways, and developing innovative methods to elucidate the molecular mechanism of cell biology.
Desired PhD candidates should have a keen interest in research, a strong commitment for academic success, and a solid training in biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology. International applicants for the PhD program need to submit satisfactory TOEFL and GRE scores.
