【疑问】关于TPO2-Lecture3

这是一篇Philosophy课上，老师关于亚里士多德对happiness的观点的lecture。

有几个问题求大家指点。

1.时态：老师表述亚里士多德的观点，有些地方用现在时，有些地方用过去时，为什么会有这样的区别呢？

比如Well, Aristotle asks:is there something that all human beings value?...If you could find such a thing, that would be universal final good, or truly ultimate purpose or goal for all human beings. Aristotle thought the answer was yes.



2.句子结构：下面这段最后一句话，我知道它大致的意思，但是这句话给我感觉结构不通啊，be enjoyed in and of themselves是什么意思啊？总觉得少了什么单词似的。

But teaching are not something that are has instrinsic value for all people, and that's true generally. Most things that are enjoyed in and of themselves vary from person to person.
