学校简介：
罗德岛大学(University of Rhode Island)，建于1892年，是美国罗德岛州首屈一指的公立研究型大学。学校位于美丽的海滨城市金斯顿(Kingston)，学校邻海而建，与纽约市(New York City)、波士顿市(Boston)的距离均在3小时车程以内。

研究方向为微流体。详细介绍如下：

Topic: Paper Based Microfluidics

The focus of this research is to create paper based devices for applications in health and wellness at the point of care. Specifically, researchers will design and build new devices capable of conducting tests autonomously for the detection of molecules that relate to the state of health or wellness of an individual.

The research will contribute to devices that have higher sensitivity and have higher complexity but are easier to use, are inexpensive to make, are manufacturable and work well in various environmental conditions such as high or low temperatures and high or low humidity.

Related projects include the use of a smart phone to read the results and design and fabrication of cartridges that contain cavities to store the reagents needed to conduct the tests.
