Position
One postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available at the
Departments of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Radiation Oncology in the
University of Iowa. The postdoctoral fellow will focus on developing novel convex
optimization algorithms for general big data analytics, with an emphasis on radiation
dose optimization in brachytherapy treatment planning. The postdoctoral fellow will be
co-supervised by Dr. Xiaodong Wu and Dr. Weiyu Xu.

Candidate Requirements
We are seeking highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated academic
excellence with publications in top-class journals and conferences. The candidate
should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Electrical and
Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. Proven ability to work
independently and experience in convex optimization (especially first-order optimization
algorithms for sparse recovery) and in algorithm designs for medical applications are
considered to be important assets for this position. The candidate should ideally have
strong C, C++, Matlab, and/or other prototyping and software development skills. Good
communication as well as writing skills is desirable. The candidate is also expected to
be willing to work in a cross-disciplinary environment.
