I cannot stress this point enough: OP is considering doing a ph.D degree PURELY for PR purpose. He is dying for a full scholarship and this is crystal clear as he has financial issues.

Plus I have to say you know nothing about the job market in Australia. Only folks who want to enjoy a long and fruitful academic career are encouraged to do a ph.D degree, otherwise the ph.D will be of minimal overall benefit. In light of these, will OP become "a scientist or an entrepreneur"? You do the math.

Btw how about you tell us YOUR PLAN to achieve your "life accomplishments" in YOUR 40s and let's see how conscientious and forward-looking you are?

My parents did their PhD in their 30s and so far they have been very successful: PR, Chief Scientists.

You are entitled to your opinion but NOT your own facts. I ain't interested in you folks' life story. There are billions of successful people who ain't phD degree holders and holding permanent residency of a certain nation is by no means a measure of success. This thread aims at helping OP make the right decision and for God's sake scroll up a little bit mine is already right there. The point is if you CANNOT put yourself in OP's shoes, every post of yours is POINTLESS. Please do not waste my and OP's time as you don't really contribute here. Move on to other productive use of your time and I can't be bothered to reply to you.

FYI there is a word class called "adjectives" in English. Next time you try to be a badass, make sure you learn them first.

It took me a month to make these sentences as I was busy dealing with offers from schools. Dealing with you was my last priority. Also I was busy reading these two books: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, plus You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life.

My apologies to the OP. As a moderator, I perpetuated the flame war simply because I got annoyed by yume1491's off-topic posts. Making a decision that would alter the course of your life is never gonna be easy (and I guess you probably already came to a decision :D). Anyway, best of luck with your application!

yume1491, save your pathetic attempt. Practically every post of yours in this thread is pointless. As I advised, learn adjectives first. "I am blind to" is not even used in that manner. Just because "blind" appears in my sentence doesn't mean you have to make another one using the same word.

I know you're trying to provoke me into a further emotional response, but unfortunately this is already your last shot. I can't be bothered to reply to you any longer.
