请问哪个连接打不开? 我这里都能开,谢谢。

雅思好像要6.5
Other scores that may be accepted in place of TOEFL scores (please check with your department):

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Required minimum score of 6.5;
Pearson Test of English: Required minimum scores are Reading 53, Writing 59, Listening 47, and Speaking 47 (62 for international teaching assistants;

以下是最近毕业师兄/姐的介绍:

zhenghan zhu ’17
Upon completing his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at URI, Zhu joined Delphi Automotive‘s Malibu Lab in California, to work on autonomous driving research with an emphasis on radar signal processing.

Education:
Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, University of Rhode Island, 2017
M.S. Microelectronics, Shanghai JiaoTong Univesity, 2011
B.S. Electronic Engineering, Shanghai JiaoTong University, 2008

Q: How did your graduate studies at URI help you become an engineer?
A: At URI, I was fortunate to have Professor Steven Kay, an incredible mentor, as my advisor. We worked closely on several interesting research projects sponsored by the Air Force Research Lab. Through those experiences, I gained so much knowledge on statistical signal processing, and more importantly, how to do great research. I also worked as a teaching assistant for multiple courses, which helped improve my communication and presentation skills. I became a better and more confident researcher thanks to my experiences at URI.

Q: What does your job entail?
A: In the near future, transportation technology will change dramatically by autonomous driving techniques. Radar, together with camera and LiDAR, are the eyes and ears of a self-driving car. Radar can detect objects, such as moving cars and pedestrian, and provide an accurate estimation of objects’ range and speed in all weather conditions.  It is used to do adaptive cruise control, cross traffic alert, blind spot detection and rear collision warning.

I am interested in maximizing the perception capabilities of autonomous cars by developing efficient signal processing algorithms. For example, I work on simultaneously estimating the distance, speed and angle of multiple cars. I also work on statistical machine learning and sensor fusion to improve the learning capability of autonomous cars. The opportunities in this area are wide open and the competition is hot. However, I feel very confident in my abilities thanks to the excellent training I received at URI.

Q: What are your proudest achievements as a graduate student at URI?
A: At the middle point of my Ph.D. journey, I decided to switch my research concentration to statistical signal processing, which I was genuinely interested in and managed to graduate on time with some nice research results. Some tangible achievements included the Enhancement of Graduate Research Award; and travel grant awards from the National Science Foundation and the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society. My dissertation was featured in the IEEE Inside Signal Processing e-newsletter, which was quite an honor.

Q: What were your research interests at URI?
A: I was focused on statistical signal processing, estimation and detection algorithm design, and information theory with applications to radar and biomedical signal processing.

Q: What are your career goals?
A: I am working toward becoming an outstanding researcher in signal processing and statistical learning, with applications to a variety of areas, especially autonomous driving.

I participated in cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary research projects, such as smart grid with computational intelligence, and published many top journal and conference papers. This enabled me to be very competitive in the job market and laid the foundation for my current research at FAU.

Q: What are your proudest achievements as a graduate student at URI?
A: During my Ph.D. study, I received the URI Steve Bouley and Rhonda Wilson Graduate Fellowship in 2016 and the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Student Abroad in 2015. With my collaborators, we received second place in the IEEE PESGM Graduate Student Poster Contest in 2015, and the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) Best Paper Award in 2014.

Q: What are your research interests?
A: My research interests lie generally in the areas of computational intelligence and cyber-physical energy systems. More specifically, I’m interested in developing new intelligent algorithms, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, adaptive dynamic programming, and building efficient and resilient cyber-physical energy systems, such as power system stability control and optimization, and cyber-physical smart grid security.

Currently, I am the principle investigator of a state grant for smart grid cyber-physical security, and senior personnel of a NSF grant for smart systems.

xiangnan zhong ’17
Xiangnan ZhongAfter completing her Ph.D. at URI in electrical engineering in 2017, Xiangnan Zhong was hired as an assistant professor at the University of North Texas, in Denton, TX.

Education:
Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, URI, 2017
M.S. Control Theory & Control Engineering, Northeastern Univ., China, 2012
B.S. Automation, Northeastern University, China, 2010

Q: How did your studies at URI help you become an assistant professor?
A: My graduate studies at URI not only provided the core courses in my area of research, but also cutting-edge research projects that enabled me to work closely with the faculty and other students in the department. Because the projects required a lot of teamwork, my communication and collaboration skills significantly improved.

The professors in the department were perfect role models. I frequently discussed course projects, research methods and career development paths with them.

I was also very fortunate to be in a research lab surrounded by many highly motivated graduate students and visiting scholars. I really enjoyed our project meetings and group discussions, which helped me identify a clear path toward the research objectives and always meet the important milestones.

Q: What are your proudest achievements as a graduate student at URI?
A: After studying at a university in China, I decided to study abroad for the first time by pursuing my doctorate at URI. While at URI, there were many things I was proud of, including successfully getting my driver’s license, publishing my first article in the top journal in my field and receiving the URI Enhancement of Graduate Research Award.

My proudest achievement is the overall experience and research skills I developed over my years in the department to prepare for the transition from being a student, to becoming an assistant professor, to running my own research lab. I am still a bit nervous about this, but I feel confident and look forward to my new career development, thanks to all the learning and training experiences at URI.

Q: What are your research interests?
A: My research interests focus on computational intelligence, intelligent control, adaptive control and their applications in cyber-physical systems and robotics. With the development of brain-like research and modern technologies, the study of computational intelligence has become one of the critical research topics worldwide. Rather than directly theorizing about how people or animals learn, my research explores idealized learning situations and evaluates the effectiveness of various learning methods.

Q: What are your career goals?
A: I plan to establish my own laboratory, recruit laboratory personnel and secure funding for my research. As a junior faculty member, it is important for me to learn to speak and write well, to develop personnel and fiscal management skills in order to run the lab effectively and responsibly. I would also like to develop some new courses for the department. In order to become a successful professor, I will also perform service for the department, the university, and the professional community.
