大龄+倒读+计划走DIY网申，过签率会很低吗？

我也知道diploma是没有学位的，顶多就是证明了你学过了这些课程。当初想考这个是想拿3年的工作签证。除非是高端精英分子，要不就是有过硬技术的蓝领，不然很难在加拿大境外找到一份加国境内的工作。我不太了解，如果是商学方面的diploma，在加拿大就业市场认可度高吗？我知道找工作要看个人能力，工作经验，语言水平，请问长老，或者其他版友，有没有人相似经历的友人能够凭着研文在加拿大找到工作？

the very first point is still: 為甚麼有master 不讀, 去讀 dipolma ??
至於與其問dipolma的認可高不高, 倒不如先問一問......確定了dipolma的認可性這東西本身存在再講.

我不知道你是business 當中甚麼field的, 如果很普遍地講, 對於business這類本身soft skill重於hard skill, communication比technical重要的方向, 我不認為content fit是最重要的. 反而是network and reputation of school, exposure and classmate, location and policy這類更加重要.

當然, 你要是某行業的專家, 該行業有特別的性質, 專門/fit in content很重要, canada那邊的這個行業也非常認可你想申請的dipolma那自然另計. 但你沒提這個是甚麼行業, 別人也就講不上甚麼了.

因为我觉得我会考不到足够高的gmat成绩.....数学太烂
我想读的是international business management，关于进出口贸易的课程。

yes, I know...working in Japan is busy and tiring.
but imagine those top MBA applicant from investment banking and consulting.....

the world is full of hard working people.

P.S. 連GMAT都不用看的business education........小心招生門檻和市場認可

with respect to a specified diploma, I will suggest you to name the college and the diploma explicitly......and ask on a Canadian based forum.

It is Douglas College, and their post-degree diploma programs: international business management (1 year) + marketing (1 year)

I know Douglas is not that famous in Canada, but I am really interested in their course cotent of these 2 diplomas and believe it can help to improve my professional knowledge.

Neither international business management nor marketing sounds something specified, and thus I will say the name of the school matters the most.

The professional knowledge, content of education, of business education comes after the location of the university, title of degree and more important, the reputation of the school (and also alumni and network).


Given that is in British Columbia, I guess the first (if not the only) school worth looking at is: UBC.

P.S. if you want to know if a certain program is good, e.g. say a MBA from UBC, the most reliable way is to check their placement of international student - especially Chinese students because Chinese are generally the worst in language and culture/ideology integration. Official career report must be also read in details carefully because schools are likely to lie, or present partial truth at the best, in their official report.

I know UBC is the most famous university in BC, I believe it is the dream school no matter for international students or domestic students, of course including me. But that is too far too high for me to meet their admissions, maybe you don’t understand this feeling. But thanks a lot for your prompt n nice reply. That is very helpful.

and the cost of trying is not high at all (just a few hundred of application fee)

the first point is.......keep away from diploma, keep away from college and more importantly, keep away from 中介.


P.S. admission to professional master, e.g. MBA, is mainly about your GPA, your bachelor, your GMAT and whatever academic skills.......it is more about your career. Is your working experience solid? Will your background diversify the cohort? Will your exposure contribute to the class? and most importantly, are you likely able to find a good job after graduation (and thus they can have a better placement report for further advertisement)?
If you don't have a strong bachelor, but you have a good and international working experience, and a detailed and reasonable career plan, it definitely worth considering some better schools.

I have already checked other universities in BC, but most of their business courses not includes some “international “ content, the most thing I want to learn is like global suply chain management,  international marketing, international trade law, etc.. I cannot find these in UBC, Uvic, SFU, Kwantlan, they all hv master couses and graducate diploma programs, but their curriculum don’t include these kinds of classes. My aim is not to become a bank manager or consultant , working in small company is fine, I don’t think I need MBA. I wan to go back to BC, I don’t like the cold weather in east Canada.

I believe i will suck at the Gmat, really, I hv checked the gmat offical guide, the maths part kills me

1. There may be a reason why all the good university there are all not offering a "international business" track in their MBA: most likely because such type of professional is not in demand in their sphere of influence.

2. Beware that "international" is quite sometimes a buzzword used in the marketing of business education. (I guess this is not the case for yours.)


想說的是, international student好搵工與否, 是很sensitive to job market 的supply and demand, 是比local student sensitive九萬幾倍.
因為正常請人都先請了本地人, 不夠, 或者你真的很厲害, 那他們才聘non-local.
當BC果堆最好的uni都一齊不開international business, 我覺得it rings a big bell on your plan of "going back to BC + reading and working in international business"
