Postdoctoral and Ph. D Graduate Assistant Positions in Plant Vascular Development at UConn

One postdoctoral position and one graduate assistant position are available in the Wang lab (http://cag.uconn.edu/plsc/plsc/People/Faculty/Wang.php) at the University of Connecticut. The projects in Wang lab focus on molecular mechanisms of stem cell maintenance in vascular meristem and regulatory pathways in xylem differentiation.

For the postdoc position: applicants should have a Ph.D degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or plant biology with no more than 3 years of postdoc experience. Applicants should be highly motivated and have a strong publication record. Experience in fluorescence confocal microscopy, protein-protein/protein-DNA interaction, and gene regulatory pathways are preferred. Candidates should have strong English communication skills and are willing to assist with the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. This position is available for one year, with a possibility of renewal for up to 3 years based on performance and continued sponsor support. Salary is based on experience and qualifications and includes benefits plan.

For the Graduate assistant position: applicants should have a M.S. or B.A. degree in microbiology, genetics, molecular biology or a related discipline. Experience on cell biology, molecular genetics, genomics, and biochemistry techniques is a plus. Candidates should have excellent communication skills in English, and be able to work in a team as well as independently.
