博士生：
We invite applications for a PhD position in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in one of the following areas:

•        Operations in smart mobility systems
•        Adaptive optimization of autonomous vehicles
•        Resilient supply network optimization

The student will be supervised by Dr. Xi Chen. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive financial package with guaranteed summer support for four years. S/he will carry out research projects in close collaboration with industry and academic research partners. The start date of the position will be September 2019.

Requirements:
•        Applicant should have a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering (Control Engineering), or a closely related field. （请注意一定要在2019年秋季前取得硕士学位才可申请，这是学校硬性要求）
•        Applicant should have a background in operations research and skills in programming (e.g., Python, C++, Matlab, R).
•        Advanced knowledge and/or experience with linear algebra and machine learning is preferred but not required.

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in one of the following areas:

•        Operations in smart mobility systems
•        Adaptive optimization of autonomous vehicles
•        Resilient supply network optimization

The postdoc will work under the supervision of Dr. Xi Chen. The research will have significant collaboration with industrial partners. The research will be translational with an emphasis on theoretical rigor. In addition to conducting research, the postdoc will also participate in grant-writing, as well as collaborating with industry to translate research results.

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary for one year, extendable to two years. The anticipated start date of the position is January 2019 (a later start date before September 2019 is negotiable).

Requirements:
•        A PhD degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering (Control Engineering), or a closely related field.
•        Advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: optimization, linear algebra, control theory, and machine learning.
•        Strong programming skills in a scientific programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Matlab, R).
•        Good written and oral English communication skills.
•        A record of research accomplishment as reflected in publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences and presentations at scientific meetings.
