Dr. Changxue Xu’s research group is seeking one outstanding PhD student to work in the area of 3D bioprinting. The ideal student will be creative and independent in thinking about new research studies. Experiences in additive manufacturing, biological polymer materials and fluid dynamics are highly desirable. Outstanding TOEFL and GRE scores are plus. Students from all science or engineering majors, especially Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Energy and Power Engineering are encouraged to apply. Research Interests:
Fabrication of hydrophobic/oleophilic surface/structure for water/oil separation
Biofabrication of scaffolds/tissues
3D printing of functional materials
Inkjet printing of biological materials

Founded in 1934, the IMSE (Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering) department is one of the first departments in the nation and the first in the state of Texas.
