前两天看到那个文科offer的个案就觉得心寒害怕，原来打算收到正式offer再上报，想想让更多XDJM了解最新情况，我还是帖上来，不计较面子的问题了。

昨晚收到via email Letter of Acceptance
PMPB----Physiological and Molecular Plant Biology
Dear XXX:
      With this letter I wish to express the interest by the members of the PMBP program at UIUC in your joining our graduate program.  Several faculty have looked at your file and suggested accepting your application.  During our phone interview, I have been impressed by your answers and I join these colleagues.  From your interests and training, we are convinced you will fit very well into the PMPB mold.
Generally, the RA (research assistant) part of support will be provided by the program during rotation periods in the first year and later by the chosen advisor’s lab.  Your first year will find you very busy taking classes and to do at least two rotations in different labs.  As a program, we are quite flexible, so that already for the second semester of year one you might chose a lab to begin your thesis research project.  In this case, the program will partially support you and the second part will be provided by your lab of choice.
After the first year, one to two semesters of TA (teaching assistant) support will be provided to complete the teaching requirements that all students have to fulfill.
Provided you remain in good standing with the program, measured as your GPA, and its requirements, we guarantee at least 5 years of support, and support beyond for completing your PhD thesis.
If you already have identified a lab in which you would like to work, you may in a few weeks begin to get in contact with the faculty/lab director but this is not essential or necessary.
Hoping that the completion of work at your present university and laboratory is progressing well, and hoping that your visit to our website, and the phone interview have convinced you that this is the right place.  We are looking forward to your accepting our offer, and I hope to welcome you this summer.

非常specific的letter of acceptance, 谢谢UIUC 和 PMPB, 一个星期就促成了offer, 非常有效率。

本人大四，在南方的一所农业大学里读生物，目前还没有paper，GPA 87/100. G: 1260 3.5, T: 610 5.0, TSE 45. 这不强吧，所以XDJM一定要对自己有信心
我觉得可能是偶对plant physiology的强烈兴趣，以及一些相关的实验研究，锲而不舍的陶瓷，打动了教授。

如果说拿到offer的前辈可以分成实力派和运气派，那我就是运气派了。前段时间Cornell把我据了，小打击了我一下，加上其它学校的暧昧答复，我觉得UIUC是我目前最好也是最后的机会，很高兴我把握住了她。谢谢上天，谢谢卧佛。以前的不快都抛在脑后。

小弟再来唠叨几句  不要害怕主动联系学校（骚扰）会带来什么不良的消息，他们其实很热情。当然什么东西都要有个度具体多大的度我也很难把握，见好就收吧。不过一定要主动！桑特拉奇的话(前山东鲁能足球队教练)对我的启发很大“这场比赛我们的运气比对方好，但是这运气是我们自己争取回来的。”我觉得申请也一样，想有好的运气，在于自己。

收到UIUC的Acceptance Letter后，就是等他们的paperwork 和准备visa了，但愿一切顺利^_^

谢谢Gters和大家一直以来的关心。终于可以把重心放到毕业论文上了，为实验室多做些贡献。暂时还没有offer的XDJM千万不要灰心，相信自己，为自己创造机会，一切皆有可能。 Good luck to everyone!
