刚收到从wake forest university的据信：

前两天给对方小米写信问，没回信，没想到今天是用挂号信寄过来的。是不是北卡的大学对国际学生招的比较少？申请困难啊？

他们家先招国内的学生，我殷勤的交了费，辛苦的等待结果，最后一问，说是国内的基本就招满了，唉，早干嘛来着，当时问的时候小米还挺热心的，现在倒好。算了，不计较，就当买教训了，以后申学校前多问问项目大小，招生比例什么的，我申cancer biology

我也是当时申的时候问对方小米，也很热心，还说什么you are competitive, encourage you to apply之类的话，原来都是套话。

给对方小米写信问我被据的原因，结果如下：

Thank you for your e-mail. I will try to answer your question.  The Neuroscience Recruitment Committee is made up of six members of the neuroscience faculty from different departments.  The committee members individually rank all of the applicants (both domestic and international) and then meet to decide which ones to interview.  The domestic applicants are invited in for a recruitment weekend; the top 3 or 4 international applicants are interviewed by telephone.  We would like to interview all applicants (both domestic and international), but it is not economically feasible.  The Committee conducts telephone interviews with 3 or 4 international applicants, because we will only be accepting 1 international student this year.  While you ranked high on the list of international applicants, you were not one of the top applicants.  The average GRE of the international applicants chosen to be interviewed was 1367; the average TOEFL was 271.  These scores were taken into account with the entire application (i.e. research experience, letters of recommendation, classes taken, etc.).  

We thank you for your interest in our program, and we wish you much success pursuing your academic goals.

看来是今年的fund有限制，所以招的国际学生only one。
