7:00被闹钟叫醒，7：30从小南门出发打的到使馆，看到一个戴口罩的人拿着
名单，面前有一堆人，知道到了（因为两天前踩过点），马上叫司机停车。当时8：10.
由于我是二百多号，所以在外面大街上等了半个小时才让我进去。（外面可以存包，比
较原始，但价格不菲，5元钱）
安检后，9：00进了签证大厅，里面设施比我想象的现代多了，有空调和饮水机，就是没
有多少椅子，所以大家都是站着等待，椅子是给人填表用的，里面也比较有秩序。先在
1号和2号窗口排队交DS表，I-20表和护照，得到一张白牌，觉得是个好兆头，因为和我
衣服的颜色一样。
然后借喝水的机会在后面边走边观察了一下各VO的长相和心情。HFMM果然PP，我狠狠地
看了好久。他们着装都很正式，看上去都很有耐心，笑容都得很迷人和灿烂，即使拒人
也如此。就看到一个女孩在10号窗口前等待，看打扮不象是学生，当时一阵心惊。
“不管了，死就死。”我扔掉杯子，毅然走到等候区里（后来才知道，只要你交了表，
就等VO喊你了，站不站到等候区都是一样的，白壮烈了一把）。在这里观察了一下，发
现10号窗口前等候的几乎都是MM，只有一个GG，而且几乎都是从7号和8号（两个美男，
一个平头绅士，一个高个的阳光男）窗口过来的，当时好期待自己也能去7号和8号窗口
。
正在做梦时，听说HFMM要了一队白牌的，我就被架上了离VO更进一步的等候区。这时才
看得更清楚了，听得更仔细了。HFMM总是保持优雅的笑容。一般是拒一半签一半。
到我上了，
Me:Good Morning, Madam. Here is my card.
H: So are you a master?(很严肃，没有一丝笑容,心想：不好，HMM不喜欢我啦一定要
让她笑。）
Me:I am a master candidate and will get my master degree this July.
H: What if you can't get the VISA?(FT:上来就吓人)
M:I will apply again because...(被打断)
H:Why do you want to go to USA?
M:To pursue...(被打断)
H：No,no no.I mean who do you want to study in USA?Why not Chinese schools?(
问这个啊，不早说)
M：Because a Chinese PHD is not qualified for a faculty position in my curre
nt deparment.
H:瞪大美目,做不信任状，Why? But I know many professors in China have a Chine
se PHD?
M: Yes.It is the truth. But all the faculty members in my deparment got thei
r PHD in USA or UK?Would you please see the brochure of my deparment?(想翻开
教师那一页给她看，太大了，送不过去，着急，只好合上，塞过去，告诉她请看第八页
)
H: I have seen this.马上塞回来给我（Hehe，我当然知道你看过了，这下你该信了吧
。）
H：What is your plan?What do you do with your PHD?
M: I will continue my teaching and research in top universities in China. Pe
king University is my first choice.
H:Why not stay in USA after graduation?
M:Because I have been interested in Chinese economic issues and I believe on
ly in China can I have a better understanding of Chinese problems.
(沉默)
还不相信?FT！
我马上露出最最诚实的微笑，：“I have talked about my plan with the founding
director of my deparment. Could you see his supporting letter?:
H:"Yes."扫了一眼后，扔了出来。What is the salary in your deparment?
M:(原来你没有仔细看我的supporting letter啊)As you can see in my supporting l
etter, it is at least $25,000 a year. It is quite competitive considering t
he different price level between USA and China.
H:How many universities have you applied for?
M:Eight.
H:How many accepted you?
M:Five.
H:How many gave you offer?
M:The university of Minnesota gave me full financial aid.(好怕她再问为什么你
才一个OFFER啊,想不到她不问了)
H:Give me your GT score?
M:Here you are。
H:Oh, I noticed that here you applied for the University of Minnesota at Dul
uth not twin cities.
M:No. I didn't think much about which universities I should choose at that t
ime. So I made a mistake. But what I want to go to most is the campus at twi
n cities.
H:Ok, please go to Window 10.
感觉整个过程还是比较快的，我觉得HFMM还是比较相信书面的东西，所以有什么东西要
尽量展示给她看，再有就是要保持微笑，这样能缓解紧张的气氛。

的百般刁难，在陪我同去的出租车内忍住呕吐的冲动还不忘VO我。感谢赵MM和她GG昨晚
对我严加逼问了一个小时，直到我最后熟练得连Economics和Economists都发不清楚了才
满意地放我走了。

最应该感谢的是CCER，她给了我自信和勇气。CCER的老师就是反驳VO很好的正面例子。
