在水木受益颇多，今天终于有机会贡献一点，虽然时间晚了点，希望对后来人有帮助。
本人背景
F, single, 北京本科医学，新加坡 生医 硕士今年毕业。美国 top 30 Pharmacology，
PhD, 全奖。 无论在新，或在美，都算了敏感专业了。曾有北京的据签纪录。
在新加坡签证，算是被放水。所以个人觉得签经不具代表性，就是想多提供点新加坡签证
的情况。
（一） 当天实录
7．28，星期一。17号约的签证是25号，星期五。自觉准备不足，周一才去。9点20 左右到
，小厅里已经都是人了。
Non-immigrate and immigrate 两种，大多数人是前者。那天有三个签证官for non-immi
gration，一个眼镜帅哥，一个盲人，一个uncle. Uncle 的问题都极常规，快捷，稍后总
结。以至于，在场的人后来都知道他怎么出牌了。但是给申请人发挥的机会就少得多。盲
人因为需要有人协助念材料，签的速度要慢一些，而且好像问题不多。眼镜的问题灵活性
大一点，但也就是那些，不过他给你自由发挥的机会也就多一些。
当天的签过率，据我不完全的观察估计应该在90%以上。（和国内的形势真是天壤之别！）
少数是新加坡人，多数是其他国家在新加坡工作或学习的。（因为新加坡人短期赴美不用
签证，多不公平！）新加坡人基本上是签F1的。在我看的过程中，好像只有一个mm被拒签
了，理由是她哥哥滞美不归。（系盲人签证官）。其余新加坡人都在少于4，5个问题就顺
利签过。对于他们签证只是一种手续而已。看到几个其他国家的人应该是check 的，但不
知道为什么说只等两个星期就行了。
我看到是中国人的大概只有4-6 个，而且多数是去美国开会的，没看到一个悲剧的，大概
程序如下：
What’s your purpose to US? ---- A kind of conference
How long have you been in Singapore?---- normally up to one year as I heard
Tell me something of your research/work?----- %^**(())$^&^^^&&**(
Have you ever been in US?----- up to facts
How can you afford the travel? ( not original words) or Your department will r
efund you the fare?
Ok, I will issue the visa, you can collect it @@@@@@, do you have any question

只看到一个F1在我之前，我觉得她的签经值得一看。根据我听到的，不一定全。

JJ: ( a little bit surprised, seems not prepared) en… Because my husband came
here first, so I come with him.
V: What does he doing in Singapore?
JJ: He is a senior engineer in %%%, he is also PR of Singapore.吹了一通，没记住
。
V: Will he go with you?
JJ: NO, he’d like to work here. $$$ 说的工作多好
V: So will you miss each other if you separated? (smile)
JJ: 开始没听懂，V重复了一下，但在场的人都听懂了，开始笑
No,… (think a while, find she say wrong words), yes, but we have holiday,
I have $$$days, and he has && days%%%%%
V: OK, Do you have any premises in Singapore? (必问for PR)
JJ: 拿出购房合同说%%%%%
V: OK, who will support you for your study in US?
JJ: Department give me full financial support for first three years. And there
is no problem for me to get support for another two years from my supervisors
. If I cannot, my husband will support me. ( Easy to hear that she is well pre
pared for this question)
V: (中了套) Could your husband support you?
JJ: Of course, no problem! 拿出不知道什么，开始说。
V: What will you do after you graduate?
JJ: Come back Singapore $$$%%%^ (挺长的，不记得了，还是和她老公有关的)
V: Will you live in Singapore or China?
JJ: not decide yet. Since China is developing very fast, we may go back after
10 years.
V: OK, I will issue you the visa......
JJ: Thank you very much!
我觉得她的例子很典型，而且问题几乎囊括了所有针对外国人在新加坡长期居住者的常见
问题。

（二） 问题总结
我几乎在签证厅里呆了一上午，所以我觉得我听到的问题差不多就是他们常问的问题了
How long have you been in Singapore?
Are you a PR?
Are you a Citizen?
Are you married?
Do you have Child?
How many children do you have? Are they in Singapore?
What are you doing in Singapore? What your husband (or wife) doing in Singapor
e?
Do you have premises in Singapore?
Do you have relatives in Singapore?
Do you have any relative in US?
Have you ever been in US? What are they for?
Have you ever been in any other countries?
How long will you study in US? Or How you do you except to graduate?
What will you do after you graduate?
以上问题基本上是属于Uncle的，他会连珠炮似的问， 一般人只有说yes or no的机会。所
以申辩的机会很少。眼镜帅哥相对比较喜欢听你说，你一边说，他一边看你的材料，然后
根据你会答问问题。

写一下自己的签经，证明是被放水。眼镜帅哥 V， Me
V在翻材料，我看到上面的照片是我的，知道要被他签了。叫号，上前
V: How are you?
Me: Fine, Nice to meet you.
V: So what's your purpose to US?
Me: I'm going to pursue me PhD degree in ### University at Dept of ###. Here i
s a letter from our department.(递经系里的fax)
V: OK. (很简单得看了一下，5 seconds,当时就觉得他根本就不想看，也不想给我签了）
so, what are you going to do? what's your interests?
Me: I'm interested to do research work in diabetes disease. Do you know someth
ing about this disease?
V: 困惑状
Me: 开始解释了一两句，才发现是我发音不准，他才没明白的。真是太shame了。继续说，
说我打算回国以后继续作这方面的研究，可以结合中国的实际。
V: So you will go back to China?
Me, Yes
V: Why don't stay in US?
Me: Because I don't have advantage to compete in US! 解释了几个理由，说我想当老
师，向我父母一样，但是在美国会比较难，因为要用英文，这是事实呀。他居然说你英语
挺好呀。fiant!我只能先谢了他。然后说中国的糖尿病和美国有什么不同，我要做结合中
国实际的东西， 因为我是在中国受的医学教育。
我觉得他并不在意，可能是觉得太泛泛了。就那么一听。
V: Do you have some personal reasons? You have mentioned you parents, and... y
ou are single....
Me: Oh, my boy friend is in Beijing. He is an accountant, he has a good job th
ere.
V: OK。 Why are you in Singapore now?
Me: Pursue my Master degree in NUS. 解释了一下我的project.
开始翻那些表，我已经有点懒得说了
V: So, you have applied visa for one time in Beijing...
Me: yes,
V: Why they rejected you? How could you convince me?
Me:上次他们没给我什么机会说。我又解释了一下我在中国会有什么优势，而在美国是没有
的。
他又开始翻遍，挺随意的。我记得前人说不要冷场的，就像还有什么可说的呢？
我提起我父亲曾经去美国作访问学者，而且在同一所大学。他听见了，没反应，继续翻表
。
我又说我和以前得到是讨论过，他们支持我去美国念书，并且在我回来的时候，会推荐我
工作的。
V:That's a reasonable reason.
V: I ####, your visa at this moment...(我没听清，但我想他是要据我了，根据他的语
句，意料之中）before I do this.... (我以为他在电脑上记录，并且给我拿那张214, 摆
弄了一会电脑)
V: I’ll issue your visa, you could get your visa on ####.....
Me: 完全出乎我的意料，但是我觉得我挺镇定的。Thanks, have a nice day!
整个过程大概有10分钟，算是比较长的。现在想来，他一直想给我机会，让我说说我就什
么能说服他的理由。但是我真的没什么特别的优势，没结婚，没房子，没工作， 让他失望
了。最后我都搞不懂是怎么回事，放水而已。我觉得我唯一好的一点是，我像是在交流的
， 而不是在背的。其实很容易听出来的。
