Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

Generally speaking, I don’t agree with the statement that immediate situation plays a more important role than society surroundings in determining people’s attitude towards all things. In my point of view, their affections on people’s attitude are different in distinct aspects.
People’s view of life is determined significantly by their immediate situation. People growing up in different surroundings may have different aspiration. For instance, a boy whose family is very poor is most likely to have a dream that he should earn much money to improve his parents’ life, while a boy who grows up in a family with good economic condition may have some more lofty goals, such as being a famous scientist and so on. Though they live in the same society, the society surroundings don’t influent so much on making their goals of life. It is their growing situation that helps to set their view of life.
On the other hand, both society surroundings and immediate situations are important in determining people’s view of value. People’s initial view of value is influenced by their immediate situation, and it may change after entering the society. For example, many people hate going to school when they were young. They don’t know the importance of knowledge since their lives don’t require much of them. However, after entering the society, influenced by the surroundings that knowledge is important to have a good job and life, they may regret that they don’t learn enough at school. Their attitude towards knowledge in these two stages is the result of the influence by both of these factors.
In some specific circumstances, society surroundings may play an important role on people’s attitude to something. Chinese suffers from many disasters in recent years. In common life without these disasters, few of us notice the importance of helping poor people. However, when we know these disasters, most people all over the country donate money and resources to help the ones who suffer from the misfortune. The immediate situations of most donators don’t affected by the disasters themselves. But when realizing the society surroundings that there are many compatriots who need help, their attitudes towards donating become active despite their neglecting on donating in usual life. The society surroundings determine their attitude in this time.
To sum up, both immediate situation and society surroundings cannot be ignored in determining people’s attitude in general. Different circumstances lead to different roles they play, which we should take special consideration.
