关于两个建筑公司的选择问题，argument 69:dizzy:The claim that using Zeta rather than Alpha for the new building project in the view of the expenses of maintenance and the energy consumption from buildings constructed by Alpha company are lower than that of Zeta seems to be quite convincing at the first glance.However,a closer look at the assumptions made by the author reveals a discrepancy while arriving at its conclusion.
The building which is constructed by Zeta has only half of the expenses for maintenance last year, hence Zeta company is somewhat better.This view can be validated only if the criterion for accessing the quality of a construction company lies only in the cost of maintenance.In fact,more aspects should be considered in accessing these two companies such as working efficiency of the workforce and the service offered afterwards since some problems may occur in the long future.Only all possible aspects being carefully evaluated could the author draw the conclusion that which is the most suitable company.
Again,the author intends to compare the energy consumption from the building constructed by Zeta and Alpha Company.It is entirely possible that the buildings ithemselves are varied in location,physical structure and the residents living in it .etc It is possible that the building by Alpha is much more complex and have more energy utilitizing facilities.Or perhaps the number of new residents in the Alpha building is the twice of Zeta building.We just do not know all these details specifically so that no conclusion could be drawn to decide which is the better construction Company.
Last,the view that a stable workforce in Zeta will have priority over Alpha is somewhat flawed.There is no evidence to show the workforce at Zeta will still be stable when they are working new building project.Perhaps the workforce work with much better efficiency and quality from Alpha Company in building the new project.Even if the workforce at Zeta is more stable,the arguer can not guarantee the quality and efficiency is still in a better condition.
The argument above lacks strong reasoning that will prove why Zeta is better than Alpha and more suitable to the new project.The data about the working efficiency ,the physical structure of the new building ,the location and the number of new residents will render a more convincing and cogent argument.
