Pointing to other all-female colleges that experienced an increase in applications after adopting coeducation, the president argues that coeducation would lead to a significant increase in applications and enrollment. However, the director of the alumnae association opposes the plan. Arguing that all-female education is essential to the very identity of the college, the director cites annual surveys of incoming students in which these students say that the school's all-female status was the primary reason they selected Grove. The director also points to a survey of Grove alumnae in which a majority of respondents strongly favored keeping the college all female.Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

1. The first survey is not reliable. How did they conduct the survey? Maybe female students are just shy to say their opinions. Or they may not want to say their opinions because that means unsatisfied with current situation. Maybe they have no complete ideas about the change. Also, the sample size, respondents, the way they conducted are not clear.
2. The second survey is not reliable, too. The sample size, respondents, etc.
3. Also, even if they support less or donate less, the school may be compensated by the revenue from the increase of students due to the change so that the school doesn't have to depend highly on donations and be controlled by alumni.
4. There may have some advantages to change the author doesn't mention. Maybe males can bring new thoughts and energies to the school so that students can benefit from the open study environment and have better academic performance.
