Sorry I cannot write in Chinese now. Because Palestine (ll) asked me to write
down my experience and because many of friends in smth have given me kind help
, I should write something, although I am quite busy these days.
I was luckily enough to obtained a visa on Jan. 8. My major is Chemical Engine
ering. My interviewing time was at 12:00. The consular officer (CO) was at win
dow 9.
CO: call my name
M: Good noon. You have a tough work. Here is my card. It is my favorite color
because my career goal is to make the sky bluer. (I put the red marriage certi
ficate on the top of my materials. It is very obvious.)
CO: Are you married.
M: Yes.
CO: Will your wife go with you?
M: No. Because she is busy. She is a teacher of … She will visit me if she ge
ts permission. I will come back to see her when I am on holidays. I promise! W
e are classmates in senior high school. We are in the same class. My wife is v
ery beautiful. I love her very much.
CO: You have come here many times…
M: Yes. I think there are some misunderstandings between the officer and me. H
e said I have a good job, but I think this is a strong tie for me to come back
.
CO: (He looked at my DS-156, pointed to my company’s name.) @#$%^
M: I beg your pardon?
CO: !@#$%^&*
M: I am sorry.
CO: How long have you worked …?
M: Oh! Three and a half years, since 2000 year, July 2000.
CO: Will you come back to the same company? (He is so nice. I have never seen
a CO like him.)
M: yes. I have a letter from Dr. ***. Would you like to see it?
CO: yes (I put two letters in).
M: He is a member of CAS. He promised me a higher position in the extended 973
project. This is my career goal. (Colorful, very beautiful.)
CO: (He looked at my career goal for 10 seconds or so.) Very good. Did you app
ly Chinese universities?
M: No. Because our department is the first and best research group in *** in C
hina. I searched the papers in the area of ***. I only find one (my paper) in
China. I have three international papers and some other publications. Would li
ke to have a look?
CO: no.
M: I have bought a big house last month, en, these months, with 157 square met
ers. I will have another house if I come back to **** (my current company). I
will have a good life in Beijing. My future will be promising. I promise I wil
l come back! I have two things to do first after my graduation. The first is t
o have a baby. You know I am 28 now. I will be 33 or 32 years old then. (the o
rder may be not exactly as what really happened)
CO: I will give your visa ***
M: Thank you very much. Merry Xmas and happy New Year!
M: Have a nice day!
I think luck is the most important thing. Of course, good preparation is neces
sary, too. Good communication with CO is very important, too. I have never had
a good communication in my previous five interviews.
If you really have a dream to study abroad, then keep on. Finally you will suc
ceed. If you do not have perseverance or cannot afford lose again and again, f
inding a job in China will be another good choice for you.
Thank you for all the friends who gave me guidance and help. I can not make it
without you.
