2015统计master求定位
本来想申金融工程，在那边发了帖子，吸收了大家建议（感谢cheesechan:handshake）之后又回炉研究每个学校的要求，得出的结论是：条件不满足。后来跟朋友聊起，发现统计不错，课程也很感兴趣，学校对于的prerequisite也较为温和，所以就来了~~~~~~以下是个人基本情况，请大家多多关照！想申请的专业: 统计master
2012年本科毕业，接着在国内工作了一年半（在一家美企做金融数据的采集），现在打算重回学校深造深造
学校背景：国内211非985
本科专业：金融
成绩：89.5/100
课程：高等数学（均分94）：the limit theory,alculus and differential equations, linear algebra, probability and statistics
金融计量（97）
统计学（94）
GRE： V153 Q167 W3.0
Tofel：101
软件：只会eviews
其它：CFA level 2
另外，还需要学多一门统计软件吗？

是的，所以自己拿不准，想征求大家的看法，大概定个位，因为我看学校网站的prerequisite基本能满足，但那是最低要求。。。所以担心啊
目前看中了这几家：
UNC
OSU
UIUC
UVA
NCSU

没错，软件是个卡，今天跟个学统计的朋友聊天，列出来一大堆。。。
作文3就是上不去，虽然考场自我感觉良好，特别是argument，但是连0.5都不给我。。。 1. 高級統計課不夠. (where is regression?!!)
2. 編程不足 (這個未必太影響你的取錄, 但是開學之後你就可以不用睡覺了)
eView基本不算, R is a MUST, SAS is strong recommended, VBA is already assumed you know it.
P.S. 我的AWA也是3分 :L :L

some of the school listed here are good school, but one point to remind you is:
what's your plan afterwards?
work in US, back home, PhD or whatever?
does your tuition really worth it?

你不讀phd讀來幹嗎…… regression is a baby course in stat program.
you need to have some programming background; otherwise your first semester will be pretty miserable. some knowledge of real analysis or advanced calculus will be helpful. 本帖最后由 Jacob0818 于 2014-8-21 09:48 编辑

的确 OLS 是基础课啊。后续还有GLM（logistic，poisson，quasi-poisson regression）。。。experiment design，time series， stochastic process， math stat，sampling，Bayesian，多元这些课也都没有，统计课背景不够，编程背景也不够。。。。。 hrx_rachel123 发表于 2014-8-15 19:26 static/image/common/back.gif

建议lz再多修一些课和强化背景在申请
