我也写了一篇 求指导More and more high school newbies flush into their university for multiple reasons. Some of them would like to have more fun especially without the control of parents.The others may concern that expanding social network or imbibing the fundamental and profound knowledge in preparation for the further study. But in general, purpose of the educational institution, like their motto states, is to produce the useful labor force for the society. The speaker holds that the educational institutions should persuade their students to learn the fields of the study they are unlikely to fail. As the one with experience in the college study, I strongly support this idea.
To begin with, as the introduction mentioned, most freshmen seldom have a prospect of their further study plan or routine. Indeed, more than 10 percent freshmen enter the college without a certain major declared. After the first or second semester ended, there are more students transferring to the college of general study which is used to conduct the student to their success in the university. The experienced professors and advisors from enormous fields can provide the fledges with hints and information to choose their major. They even can do some prediction based on the students' current status. For instance, if the student regarded the job after graduation as the success, they can advise him to study the computer science major which is hotter today.
Furthermore, the most eager purpose of the education institution is to cultivate the labor force into the society or market. If the student who is given enough freedom to find his "preeminent" routine of their own free will, he may spend more than 5 years in the college to determine which major is the most suitable for him. Eventually, the word suitable can not infer the meaning of the word successful. Without the enough guidance, not only the labor market will lack of the new generation in the most developing area, but also the student waste a lot of the time.
On the other hand, we can not totally negate the students' own ideas. Admittedly, there are some paragons that someone insist their own academic routine then accomplished with huge praises. However, this example is too radical and can not be used to practice for most commons. As the education institutions, this is not stable for them can not put students into this precarious position to bid success or lose. For most student who are not extraordinary, education institution should never suggest them to carry that.
According to the above points, I agree with that the education institution should dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed.
