Claim: The best way to understand the character of a society s to examine the character of the men and women that the society chooses as its heroes or its role models.
Reason: Heroes and role models reveal a society’s highest ideals.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
我的原思路：
Thesis Sentence: Obviously a character of a society is shaped by characteristics of its people, but whether heroes and role models can represent all the people in its society is debatable. To fully understand the character of a society, instead of solely concentrating on those people who are chosen as heroes or role models, we should communicate with different kinds of people in that society and figure out their characteristics from their lives, which is changing with time.
TS1: Admittedly, the character of heroes or role models in a society in some extent shows part of the character of a society, but their characteristics can never cover all the characteristics of people in that society and even sometime this approach is misleading.
（role model们只是反映了正面品质，而且往往只是突出的品质，一般的正面品质和负面的品质没有在他们身上得到展现。甚至有时候一个社会选出role model只是因为他们缺少这种品质想要让人民学习这种美好的品质，这时候把role model的品质当成一个社会的品质就显得不合适了）
TS2: To better understand social character, we should immersed in local culture and try to understand different kinds of people in this society through observing their daily routines.
TS3: Furthermore, role models or heroes are relatively static, but as for a society, which is formed by generations of people, the character of a society is changing.
原思路存在问题：
claim和reason都特别强调role models/heros，在原思路中有跳开原谈论范围偏离重点的嫌疑，另起一个best way时要谨慎。
产生过程分类这个方法从来没有想到过，很神奇
讨论结果：
从hero/role model产生过程分类，即社会怎么选出这些典范，分别讨论原推理是否成立。
（１） 官方推动的，以官方宣传工具形式出现，老百姓并不一定认同，对是不是highest ideals这点就存疑问，他们可能不能如实反映整体社会性格。Leifeng
（２） 商业产物，只是展示出想要展示的样子，并不能通过他们了解一个社会特性……
（３） 确实是民众推选的有内在美的公认的典范，则可以通过他们了解一个社会特性。如科学家

you have to explain at the very beginning that the society's choice of their heroes is often shaped by some institutional forces such as marketing efforts and government propaganda.
