In the district of Sanlee, 86 percent of the teachers reported assigning homework three to five times a week, whereas in the district of Marlee, less than 25 percent of the teachers reported assigning homework three to five times a week. Yet the students in Marlee earn better grades overall and are less likely to be required to repeat a year of school than are the students in Sanlee. Therefore, all teachers in our high schools should assign homework no more than twice a week.
Write a response in which you examine the stated and/or unstated assumptions of the argument. Be sure to explain how the argument depends on these assumptions and what the implications are for the argument if the assumptions prove unwarranted.

    TS
The article argues that all teachers in high schools of Attra should assign homework no more than twice a week because such a measure works efficiently. Well, I find this argument is based upon several assumptions, which critically need to be clarified. The implications of those assumptions would strengthen or weaken this argument.

    ts1
The first assumptions which need to be addressed are that less homework makes students works better all subjects in that surveyed school and would works as well in all other schools in Attra.

    ts2
The argument is based on the assumptions that the test qualities are the same in Marlee and Sanlee with the same standards of level upgrading.

    ts3
The critical assumption need to be addressed is the teaching situations in high schools of Marlee and Sanlee are the same.

To Chris,

我觉得你提的4、5 稍微有些不太恰当;

In the district of Sanlee, 86 percent of the teachers reported assigning homework three to five times a week, whereas in the district of Marlee, less than 25 percent of the teachers reported assigning homework three to five times a week
