ISSUE:scandals are useful because they focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could.

Outline

I strongly agree that scandals are useful because they are readily capable of attracting our attention on problems than any other forms of events, whether be a tedious speech or a insipid statement. Some may argue that scandals usually tend to distract our attention from the real problems,I concede that because not all of audiences of scandals are professional critics or sagacious (perspicacious)pundits,Yet when it comes to talk about the way of appealing our attentions, scandals have particular advantages in garnering our attentions.

Typically,Scandals are somewhat very rare and secret, even uncanny events of society that we have barely witnessed or heard. Therefore people are more readily to be attracted on them and sometimes even spend time to search for scandals. In fact,it is the intrinsic idiosyncrasy(penchant) of common people to pry privacy or information of others. This could be seen from the 2016 US.presidential election in which Trump Donald and Hilary Clinton had a fierce of battle of tongue. However,The funny things were that other than very less stating political and social opinions, two opponents were both keen on disclosing some very squalid and highly undercover experiences of each other such like “leaking mails of Hilary Clinton”“disrespect of women of Trump Donald”.  Likewise, the audience as well concentrated more on the scandals than the very presidential election.Scarcely were the essential (front-and-center,pivotal)problems of US.proposed and focused by audience, particularly mediocre civilians.Generally,Scandals serve to focus our attention on problems ,by provoking curiousness and interesting, through sensationalizing the problems or discovering bizarre and uncanny events, and thus they have unrivaled advantages in competing with those conventional forms of events.

Rather than speeches or statements,Another significant functions of scandals are that they have tremendous sphere and length of influence, particularly for the people of the rest of the world .Consider, for much of history ,those even very significant events of society were hardly transmitted to the rest of the world. The event of gun of Lexington, for instance, few people particularly people from outside of America, know what exactly is the details of the event such like why it happened or even who was the head . Or the event of“kitchen debate”between Richard Nixon and Khrushchev”,I guess it is only known and retained among the very small group of politicians from countries of participants, yet it might be somewhat exaggerated.Conversely, those even very trivial marginal events of scandals could long retained in our memories. This could be seen from the scandal of watergate break-in,far less than a night did it transmitted to nearly entire world, and even now we are still able to tell the story to other people very clearly and detailedly.

However, some may argue that scandals are usually distractions that while they successfully attract our attention on the events,in the meanwhile they usually distract us from the real problems. To some extent,I concede.Yet,notice that we are focusing on the way that how the scandals attract our attentions on the problems, not the essences or contents of problems.Despite,I think this point should depend on audiences of different areas or purposes. For example, while for those average people who are less willing to learn or scrutinize scandals,of course, they would focus their attention on the superficial descriptions or interpretations of scandals and for those who are responsible for professional occupations that requiring very rigorous and strict words,a haranguing speech or a screed is much more useful over scandals;yet for those politicians or business leader who are very sagacious and purposeful, they are capable of filtering out futile information from the sandals and spontaneously focus on the real problems.Clearly,it is not scandals that prevent us from focusing on the problems,it is the curiousness of nature of people that distract our attention.

In summary, exist is rational. In light of these points above, Scandals in attracting attention have unrivaled advantages than any reformer or speaker ever could.they could easily and readily provoke our curiousness, and we as human born with curiousness are more likely to be obsessed with scandals.
