In this modern society, digital tideimpacts our life more and more profoundly, since digital products provide usmore immediate information and lively sense of the news. Between report from newspaper and that from television, I always choose the latter one, since the news benefit more from the digital technology.
First, television news is reported notonly more rapid than newspaper does, but also more objective. Mature communication technology allows the news to be disseminated immediately by digital images. Inthe famous cable companies such as CNN news, what journalists do primarilyeveryday is going to the places in which the news happened, sending out instant television signals. They aim to spread the real information of events by live reporting, providing us the feeling that we were in the spot. In this way, audiences are able to consider the news based on what they saw and hear directly on the screen, avoiding from being influenced by others’ perspectives.
In contrast, the news from newspapermight combine the private opinion from pressmen. In other words, reporters would add their subjective attitude in the words. For example, some journalists who incline to support government would report more positive aspects on the events which benefit government, instead of uncovering unfairness it brings about. Thus,audiences may be led by reporters and editors without learning about objective facts. What's more, newspapers are limited by traditional printing, covering news only through few pictures and a large amount of words. Without sufficient visual evidences, readers may manage to imagine the situation of scene. Obviously,imagination likely causes misunderstanding.
To draw a fair picture, it's necessary to point out some advantages of newspaper. For instance, newspaper is good at detailing report. However, after balancing all the pros and cons, it's safe to say that television is more likely to provide us real information.
In conclusion, I insist on my choicefor the reasons listed above. Although newspaper has some superiority,television news outweighs newspaper report on reality.
